What a day for field work around Buttermere in the English Lake District. All rock samples (black) bagged and headed home into the sunset. Not a bad day at the office.

Boulder hunting on Black Combe in the English Lake District for PhD student Ruby’s fieldwork! Re-tracing the steps of those who sampled for cosmogenic nuclide dating to enable Ruby to measure erosion rates since the last ice age. Steep, great scenery & nice samples.A successful day.

I'm Dr Kaja Fenn @drloessismore.bsky.social a Lecturer in Environmental Change.
I love working with arid and aeolian sediments. Loess is my fav so I'm often found hanging off cliffs. But I've also worked on archaeological sites, caves, table mountains, and more. Plus I'm into sediment provenance!
