The Kushner brand is basically: I'm hear to offer peace deals and get money, and I'm all out of peace deals

The Trump administration could really restore confidence by getting the entire Cabinet to ride a tanker through the Straits of Hormuz to show everyone how safe and easy it is now.

They could bring along a lot of MAGA influencers and Fox News hosts to broadcast it all live!

Opinion | I Went to Florida to See the 31-Year-Old Candidate Thrilling Gen Z. We’re in Trouble.

James Fishback likely will not be the next governor of Florida. But he represents a rise of antisemitism and racism that started as trolling for trolling's sake to sincere beliefs among young men on the right. Good @michellegoldberg.bsky.social piece.

SCOTUS, 6-3 decision: an action this important requires approval by the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
In a concurrence, Thomas and Alito reserve the possibility that the Ayatollah could make this decision on his own if that was the common expectation in 1979.

36th United States Congress - Wikipedia

Here’s a candidate: the 36th Congress. 2 months to elect a Speaker, no real legislation before the 1860 election, watches the Union disintegrate, then in desperation tried to pass a Constitutional amendment promising that Congress will never limit slavery.

We had a deal to keep Iran from getting nukes!

Trump backed out of it because he wanted to own Obama. Iran kept following its end of the deal for a year anyway, begging Trump to reenter the deal.

Trump literally backed out of the no nukes deal and then initiated a war because of nukes. Insanity.

The obvious solution is going to Congress for new legal authority, perhaps using the reconciliation process to avoid a filibuster. The fact that, one year in, he won't even consider it tells us that:
a) he could never get the votes
b) he just cannot accept the constitutional separation of powers.

A litmus test for any serious Democratic presidential candidate in 2028 is their commitment to tear down every ostentatious monument Donald Trump has built for himself and restore the spirit of austere republicanism

I think it would be great if we started trying to normalize the idea that the Framers could have gotten things wrong.

They simply didn't anticipate that there would be a significant population inside the District. Making it so that no one lives inside of the federal district is in alignment.

In contrast, Bezos’s ex-wife gave away $7.2b in 2025, the most given by anyone in a single year since Fortune began tracking this in 2012 - and more than Bezos has given in his whole lifetime.

The Republicans Made Peace With Science The Trump administration’s hostility to science is real, but it isn’t matched by the rest of the GOP’s.

I've got a piece out today @theatlantic.com with @dashunwang.bsky.social on how the Republican Party in Congress continues to fund science, pushing back against the Trump Administration's most anti science funding proposals. (gift link)
