It seems like in any poll, 25-30% of respondents support the Rump Regime, because they view all poll questions as gotchas, and they learned what the regime showed them: if you never admit mistakes, never accept blame, never back down and never feel shame, then you always win!
Forever cult, indeed.
After a needed break from performing, last night was a great way to return at the @meetinghouseartscenter . It was wonderful seeing so many friends, catching up, and watching so many great performances!

After a certain amount of snow, the words "Winter Wonderland" become a hateful, muttered curse.
We reached that amount in January, and none of it melted, so now we got TWO freakin' wonderlands out there.
The only saving grace is that local waterfalls will be EPIC if spring ever arrives.

The thing is that if someone likes something because they believe it required a lot of skill & a lot of time to make, being told 'oh I used AI' negates all of that
It isn't just 'ooh pretty' it's 'I respect how much work went into this - oh you're saying there wasn't any work involved?'
I used to be like "does Sherlock really need a cocaine and violin room" but after 12 pages of Watson's inner dialogue I am looking on the situation more generously

Yeah, we know. That's why we came here in 2023.
they have to resort to this because of the 60-year jobs decline in the lackey, ruffian, and lummox industries. gone are the days where a degree in the loutish arts could reliably provide for your family
Banana republicanism sadly remains in style.
But I'd like to hope we have the cooperation and communication now, to make this outcome at least slightly different from all those before it?

the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??
between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright
Screenshot of email from Copyright.gov that reads "NewsNet 1078 December 19, 2025 The U.S. Copyright Office has created a new group registration option known as Group Registration for Two-Dimensional Artwork, or GR2D, to allow artists to register a group of published two-dimensional artworks by submitting a deposit comprising one complete digital copy of each work within the group. The final rule expands the registration options currently available to artists and permits the registration of multiple works with a single application and one filing fee. The final rule also announces a new online registration application for this group option. The proposed rule would have allowed applicants to register up to ten works published within a thirty-day period. Based on commenters’ input and to facilitate broader participation in the registration system, the final rule permits applicants to register up to twenty works, where all works within the group were first published within the same calendar year. The final rule takes effect on February 17, 2026, to coincide with the expected completion of related system development and educational resources. The Office will issue an additional public announcement when this option is available to applicants. For more information, please visit the Copyright Office website."
Artists! The US Copyright Office has changed the rules, starting in Feb. we can register up to 20 published 2D works of art in a single application, making it way more affordable!
Important as registration is needed to fight theft in court or the CCB.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.
I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?
For Jesus’ birthday this year, he’s asking for affordable housing, universal healthcare, and for people to stop using his name to explain why they’re being cruel to strangers.
+1 for the alt text!
And, you know, the stunning view. 😃👍
This video makes some cogent, important points about the Vanity Fair piece likely being orchestrated to help Trump ride out the Epstein release.
It's a great reminder that media can manipulate us most easily when it says what we want to hear.
