WWT are calling for chalk streams to be classified as irreplaceable habitats in the NPPF. This would give our rivers the same protections as ancient woodlands. It would ensure that developments are not allowed to damage them.

Allocating land to specific purposes, energy production, reforestation and food,to name a few,would sort this out. Legislating out harmful foods and supporting farmers to grow healthy options with nature friendly farming would be better and economical way of approaching subsidies.

There are a trial of school streets going on, but only 5 or 6. There could be one in Chippenham. I know there’s one in Melksham.
