WWT are calling for chalk streams to be classified as irreplaceable habitats in the NPPF. This would give our rivers the same protections as ancient woodlands. It would ensure that developments are not allowed to damage them.

You Told Us To Talk About The Weather - Climate Short YouTube video by Talk About The Weather

Take just 5 minutes to watch this short film from @climatemajority.bsky.social
Then ask yourself: 'how can I really speak about the weather?'
How can we change small-talk into a conversation for meaningful change?

Read these words from 100 years ago about immigrants in Britain – and see how history is chillingly repeating itself | George Monbiot Shabana Mahmood’s new rights clampdown looks outlandish until we remember that this kind of hardline action is part of our country’s fabric, says George Monbiot

Great article as ever.
β€œ by accusing the Green party of β€œsectarianism”, which appears to mean that it attracted Muslim votes. Is β€œsectarian” now code for Muslim?”

Greens πŸ’š are the antidote to hate and division spewed by Reform, millionaire press and Labour.

The Green Party calls on Starmer to call out our allies acting like rogue states and defying international law.

Illegal bombing is not the way to help the people of Iran, or to maintain global security. We must not be complicit in any way. We must call for rapid de-escalation.

Allocating land to specific purposes, energy production, reforestation and food,to name a few, would sort this out. Legislating out harmful foods and supporting farmers to grow healthy options with nature friendly farming would be better and economical way of approaching subsidies.

10 years on, it's time to admit the damage Brexit has done and rejoin the EU

A court has ruled that the government's authoritarian ban on Palestine Action was unlawful.

Time to stop criminalising the people protesting a genocide - and start ending the UK's complicity.

We are not immune to the effects of a heating planet. The true cost of climate crisis looms over us. People driven from their homes because of flooding.
This in the UK.
At least the local council are looking after their community.

UK and US sink to new lows in global index of corruption Countries’ drop in scores in annual table comes amid β€˜worrying trend’ of backsliding in established democracies

This is not a blip! We have been slipping down the rankings since 2015. Bold action is needed to β€œremove big money from politics, delivering genuinely open government, and ending the cronyism that undermines public trust in our institutions.”

@wiltshiregreens.bsky.social we need school streets in #Wiltshire. We need pavement repair to be prioritised. We need the council to ban pavement parking. We need 20mph streets around schools. We need to make it easier for kids to walk to school & parents to feel confident allowing them to.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For β€˜doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

Solar grazing: β€˜triple-win’ for sheep farmers, renewables and society or just a PR exercise for energy companies? For Hannah Thorogood, a first-generation Lincolnshire farmer, grazing her sheep on solar land gave her a leg-up in the industry

More good news on the renewables front. Solar brings benefits for climate change, householders and farmers. So we can have our sheep and eat it, with solar farms.
