Yeah, I had the same thought about the murder mystery part kind of forces the nature of many of the characters, in order to have a good movie.

There is some good shown in it ( our “protagonist”), but I feel like it’s kind of 80% negative and 20% positive.

Also watched it last night. I enjoyed this one and the first one, not so much the second one.

There’s some good sides to it but overall felt like it was a negative portrayal of religion, I doubt Brent would like it

This kind of stuff is something the game does very well. Maybe a little TOO loosely balanced though.

Ahh. Yeah, that’s pretty good. One free revival is there too but I guess you’re starting to spend too much on defense when you need to stack offense passives.

I didn’t play around too much with shields. Just when I was using monoco I used this one that gives 1-3 shields to only one person I think. Which is good but not crazy.

Did you go shields in part as insurance against the gradient attacks?

Yeah, I liked it a lot too. The game system is pretty flexible and pretty easy to bust, so that kinda lightens any demands too. Can kinda face tank stuff and kill bosses.

I am not sure whether that would make the game better or worse. I dislike that the game is so dominated by parry and would enjoy more turn based decisions. But that seems like it might just force more revives and stricter parry compliance on everything else.

That is kind of funny when you consider that in most cases they are insanely easy and a freebie from the devs.

Finished up metaphor today and have been playing some of DQ3 too. Enjoying that quite a bit

Basically , the posting on other people’s walls, and I think maybe it was also a hidden section of the site created for off topic discussion that was lost I think? Can’t remember what that was called.

But as I remember it, afterwards it was all business and no play. Of course everyone left.

The forum software was a serious part of it, but the admins really shoved it off the cliff too. The loss of features seemed like in accordance with their goals anyway.

It was basically all the stuff that made it work like a social network that was lost as I recall. And they wanted that gone anyway

I think discord has got a BIT of a similar vibe now but to me it’s just not the same.

As for jrpgs… there’s a good amount of us into both fgs and jrpgs. GBVSR is the only one that has really held my attention lately, fg wise. JRPG list is much much longer, lol…

Since it was before the rise of twitter, it really was a community for ASW games. That sense of community led people to want to produce content for others in the community… that mostly died off when the great move to twitter happened. I regret the way that all played out.

And I’ve just thought of you as another JRPGer on here too.

Dustloop was really good back in the day before .. you know. Just another wiki now, which is certainly great for that purpose.

Yeah, it is funny to me since I did not remember that at all. I spent a lot of time on there until they pushed us all to twitter, and once the twitter transition was solidly made I wasn’t on there at all anymore… and I don’t follow you on twitter so it all feels like a weird coincidence to me.
