The Glasgow Train Robbery is another successful slice of history from @saltandpeppergames.bsky.social, this time covering the 1963 train heist that would have been successful had it not been for a game of Monopoly. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/03/09/t...
board games: Re;MATCH, Regicide Legacy, Barbecubes, Annulet, Pyrotechnics, The Glasgow Train Robbery, Burned, Cozy Stickerville, Penitent, Gods & Mortals, L'oaf, Rhine & Rhone, Rex Regnat, Let's Go! To France
Had a lovely week of games. What did you get to the table?
I need every single male artist that follows me to read this. It's not very long. You need to bear witness to this shit. You have to see it with your own eyes because you never will in your everyday life.
I'm serious, read it all please
If you didn't know that my reviews have near-universal alt-texts, you'd be missing out on self-deprecating tidbits like this one.
Penitent by @danbullock.bsky.social is full of difficult questions and few answers, tackling the prison reforms of the early 19th century and their consequences. In many ways it's a troublesome game, but those same details make it a worthwhile dissection. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/03/05/p...
Thanks for having me on the show @zillablitz.bsky.social!

Reviewers: if something doesn't seem right about a game, please take a moment to re-read the rules or even reach out to the publisher or designer for clarification before publishing a review. That extra step can save heartache and damaged reputation on both sides.
Algunos personajes que he ilustrado para el nuevo juego de mesa de @saltandpeppergames.bsky.social 'El asalto al tren de Glasgow'. Pronto mΓ‘s.

Cuius Regio, the next of my wargames that GMT is publishing, uses roll&move and it is key to recreate the feeling of the maneuvers of the time (Thirty Years war). So I can't say anything against that mechanic, sorry.

Yes! There's no doubt that RTT is a great platform to play with players from all around the world! And Nevsky and Plantagenet play especially well there.
Okay, Levy and Campaign... you have my attention. I've been playing these largely multi-handed solo. I haven't yet mustered the courage to play Nevsky or Plantagenet on RTT with people. SHOULD I?!
Here's the first peek at the board for The Pure Land: Onin War in Muromachi Japan, 1465-1477 from
@gmtgames.bsky.social. This looks absolutely terrific, and just like that - there's suddenly a new COIN game for my consideration. Thanks a lot, @zweigefuhle.bsky.social. π

When linocuts I made didnβt match the vibe of the Penitent cover, I made a custom ink stamp so I could print on each deck tile. Iβm really happy with how they turned out.

Actually, I want to quote this again, because I think some of us are making the misstep of allowing this conversation to proceed on Dancey's terms.
He insists he was only talking about *ideas*, not finished products. What goofballs we are! Except...
A piece of paper showing a 4x4 grid mostly filled with drawings of buildings. Next to the grid are building names next to polyomino shapes with squares of different colors.
I make games because I love every step of the processβthe initial idea, the scrappy first prototype, the first playtest filled with glee and failure and hope.
Hereβs my scrappy first prototype of Tiny Towns. [1/6]
I tend towards working with the most basic prototypes that are playable. Graphics come way later. Although I have to remind playtesters that we are testing the system and art feedback is not necessary at this point.
I've been working on a free, open source (FOSS) virtual tabletop program aimed at designers (using Godot). Over the last few months I've been focusing on component creation.
I'm looking for feedback and collaborators - please consider joining the team!
