"Rathian" (Pyropterus regalis) for my Monster Hunter spec-evo AU

- or when scaring off potential hazards, as it is quite costly to replenish. They store a flammable gas in a gular sac, connected to the mouth, then spray it very quickly and back off, as the gas combusts in front of whatever unfortunate menace was there to recieve it.

- and snatching it with its strong grasping, and venomous claws.

They move on four limbs, using their wings as front legs that allow them to both gallop on ground and spring forward into flight.

Rathalos are known for their fire, wich they produce only when threatened -

Rathalos are large flying wyverns, males of the species Pyropterus regalis, usually standing at the top of many ecosystems, where their role is that of apex predators.

Weighing around 300kg, they are among the largest wyverns capable of flight, coming down on unsuspecting prey -

Thus, a different trayectory for life on earth would be set:

*No Great Dying (less great)
⋆Clades like mammals or dinosaurs would not evolve.
⋆Small tree-dwelling gorgonopsians, basal archosauriformes, and unusual hexapodal vertebrates would be the ones to inherit this Earth.

My Monster Hunter AU is on the basis of hard speculative evolution, readjusting every single MH creature for an alternate evolutionary history of our own Earth, with a new tree of life starting ≈251,9 mya, due to the Permian-Triassic extinction not happening.
