I don't like when crows fight and it's loud too.

This is what happens when birds start melting into the sky. I'm disappearing.

Who announces that they are eating dinner? Crows do. Crows caw to let other crows know where the food is. At least they are generous.

I have so many crow stories, some fascinating while others are when crows got the best of me.

The partridges are searching for Easter eggs in the grass...now, why a bird would be searching for Easter eggs, I don't know.

These guys are so hard to photograph. I focus my camera, then the bird dives into the water. I have been fortunate to have taken a few good photos of the golden eyes though.

Don't tell the duck that...he might get offended.😆

When I was in the NE US, I was delighted when I encountered a cardinal. Now, back in the West, I miss the cardinals and their whistles.

It's tragic for the birds. And some of that avian flu is, if not all of it, from the cruel practices of the poultry industry. Birds are overcrowded and most likely have weak immunity too.

I took these photos in 2025 in Mount Vernon, Washington. I believe it was during the spring so almost a year ago.

I find being the light challenging like many others do. It's easy to be the light when everything is going well, but when the blank hits the fan, holding the light isn't as easy. We can do it though. Hold the light even if you think no one cares.

I'm posting this as a reminder to myself since I'm experiencing high levels of stress today that is causing me to feel sick.

I hope the message also soothes others.

I hadn't thought of that. I noticed fewer snow geese and trumpeters arriving in Skagit County in Washington State over the years. I'm 61 and there are fewer birds now than there were during the 1970s, and that was around time of DDT still being in the environment.

I wonder how cell towers and data centers affect bird populations. I haven't heard anyone mention those mainly because no one wants to give up their cell phones or AI.
