These people can't be trusted to "hold fascism at bay" because they can't recognize it when they see it. They're happy to push for us to accept fascist positions, including the anti-trans bullshit being pushed by MAGA and agreed to by folks like Newsom, for instance.

That's because a lot of people on the right pretend to be on the left and present things like the abandonment of human rights as leftist positions.
Choose candidates who want to actually fight fascism rather than agreeing with fascist premises like the need to enforce the cis purity of sports through sexual abuse and witch hunts.
Here's the idea: oppose every aspect of fascism, including its need to violently enforce bioessential and anti-trans gender roles, at every level and by every means available. That means kicking fascists and their collaborators out of the tent.
