lol so I’m starting all over
This might be the best first chapter I’ve ever written (new wip delusion).
Photo of Ellie holding chunk of notebook pages.
Planning/writing in a physical notebook might be the move bc look how much I’ve plotted for my new wip already:
Halfway through @kalrmorgan.bsky.social ‘s current WIP and I’m so in love??? I’m tearing through this manuscript and it’s only draft ONE? I’m surrounded by the most talented writers.
I admittedly have not been active on here enough and twt is a cesspool.
Oh I sure will be soon!
I was planning to take a larger break while querying AMMH but this next WIP has completely taken over my mind.
I’m surprised I don’t write more romance. Whenever I come up with an idea the first element I usually think about is any romance subplot.
Screenshot of query stats on query tracker. Four queries have been sent.
Here we go again!
All Mine My Heart. An agent’s guide. Eighty-three thousand word contemporary fantasy with horror elements. Over close up of black woman in glasses left eye.
Pitch. Ivy only has three concerns: graduating, getting into law school, and pretending to be over her ex-situationship. What is certainly not on that list is being turned into a vampire—nor being hunted by evangelical vampire hunters. Photos of posters and book covers: The invitation (movie), A Dowry of Blood, Ninth House, and Immortal Dark.
Themes/Tropes Metamorphosis: being remade Vampires, magic, and the unknown The pervasiveness of Gen-Z humor Black, female rage Details lost to time/death Perception related to truth and justice College Setting
Snippet Ivy crossed her arms and looked out the window. It was a pitiful attempt at seeming unboth-ered. Cleo was only meant to be a ride home for her and Leah, a tight-lipped, unquestioning chauf-feur. Ivy supposed it was a ridiculous fantasy to ex-pect. And now she felt bare in a way she only felt in front of her family. She wasn't equipped with the tools to counteract the way her chest ached. She couldn't think of witty retorts to throw at her the way she did Leah. Couldn't use silence as cruelty like she so often did with Emerson. Instead, she was left with a stinging regret. She wished she hadn't called Cleo. She wished that, with a wave of her hand, she could repaint the memory in Cleo's mind.
Seven months since I pulled my last manuscript out of querying (and later shelved), and I am so excited to announce that I will be querying vamp wip: ALL MINE, MY HEART later this week (Wednesday, most likely). #agentguide
As always, agents feel free to interact!
Love that this is the new vague ❤️
I’m neglecting my Bluesky but I promise good stuff is coming. A certain, agent guide shaped thing this weekend. 👀
Had rewards so spent only $2 on an advance ticket for a Challengers rerun at the theater…it’s the little things in life.
WOAHHHH that sounds so good!!
Very close to querying and I'm so excited. Just have to get through these edits...
There’s so much lore in vampire WIP that won’t ever make it to the pages 😭 problem with being a plotter.
Had zero energy today (🩸) but I somehow managed to get halfway through my fourth-to-last chapter of this draft and I’m very proud of myself.
Image of Ellie’s desk with monitor, keyboard, and course over wood finish.
New desk + mouse pad + wrist rests 🥹
I HAVE to lock in now and finish this draft.
I’ve been manifesting so HARD the past month. When writing gets hard just think about where you want to be next, whether that’s getting an agent or a book deal, and it will propel you forward. Don’t give up! I’m expecting to see ya’ll’s books my desk in the future!
How do people keep their glasses so clean. I wipe mine down and point two seconds later they’re dirty again.
The title cover to an agents guide for the project. The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page. The words “An Agent’s guide to” - in glowing orange surrounded by a black box. “The Dying Religion” - in an echo effect in black and white font surrounded by an orange glow. “Adult epic fantasy” - in glowing orange surrounded by a black box.
The pitch page for the project. The pitch itself is in a large black box with dashed orange borders, the word pitch intersects with the box and is in a black and white echoing font. The pitch is: No one expected orphans to survive the war meant to end magic, least of all win it. But victory’s price? The death of their God. Now war returns to a still healing continent, the enemy intent on slaughtering the five remaining Gods. and the children raised as Holy-War cannon fodder must decide if they’re worth saving. The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page.
The comps & tropes page for the project. The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page. Every box is black with an orange, dashed border, and the boxes for tropes and comps have the appropriate title, partially intersecting the relevant title. The quotes do not. Comps: Kaos, Witcher and Godkiller The quote “martyr, coward, traitor or fool. Your choice, really, you’ll serve our needs one way or the other.” The quote “there is only one religion in war, and believe me when it’ll you it’s a godless faith.” Tropes: Gods pay their dues Hero x villain Found family Heist into hell Friends to lovers to enemies Morally grey mc & villain Magic comes with a price
A villain and hero page for the project. The hero and villain both have information about the individual characters in two separate black boxes, both with orange dashed borders. The word “hero” and “villain” intersects the relevant boxes (right and left respectively) The background is a volcano erupting, streams of lava flowing across the page. Villain The gods killed all he loved Out for revenge on the gods Brainwashed veteran Waterbender Raised as cannon fodder Reborn as propaganda In love with the hero Hero: Raised to be the weapon of the gods Out to destroy the institution that forged him Guilt ridden veteran Electricity bender Raised as cannon fodder Remade as a national threat (not what graphic says but need to resave that one) In love with the villain In the centre is the quote “your first mistake was thinking that people like you and I were ever born to do anything but burn.” With arrows pointing from hero (the receiver) to the villain (the speaker.)
The Dying Religion -
KAOS x WITCHER x GODKILLER
No one expected orphans to survive the war to end magic, instead they won it.
Victory’s cost? The death of their God.
“Do you know what it costs to be loved by a God?”
“Tell me, how’s it pay to be feared by one?”

PITCH & BASICS 111k words Queer historical romance Dual POV with flashbacks Ten years ago, Nathan Gilliard turned informant on his family's Prohibition empire, damning his brothers to life in prison in exchange for a ten-year sentence of his own. Now, he's released back into the world with one goal: earn enough money to get on his feet and spend the rest of his life alone and penitent, never forgetting what he did to his family—and why. Taking a job in the small town of Aurora, Kansas, Nathan gives a false name and vague backstory to his new employer, the unexpectedly kind Lawrence Freburg. But Lawrence's kindness isn't all that catches Nathan off-guard—he has his own secrets, far from being the nondescript single father he appears to be, and as the two of them live and work together they only find each other more intriguing, admirable, and irresistible. The closer they grow, the more Nathan is faced with an impossible choice: follow his long-held conviction of a life of solitude, or follow his heart and risk becoming the very sellout he was labeled so long ago. And when the real threat of Nathan's former life comes back with a vengeance, both men must face the consequences of holding their pasts too present—and decide how to seize control of their futures.
CHARACTERS Art of Nathan (a man with short, dark curly hair and dark eyes, wearing a dark sweater) and Lawrence (a blond man with glasses, wearing a brown jacket and tie with a light blue shirt and navy vest) with accompanying moodboards next to them.

Nathan Gilliard digs his own grave as the moon sets and the first streaks of purple lighten the night sky. The half-rusted shovel works only marginally better than his hands at digging into the earth, but the repetitive motion has long since numbed his limbs. Sweat pools into pockets of ice as it collects on his scalp and back, trickling down his arms in freezing rivulets, but he doesn't pause. Half a mile away, the car he stole from his brother is cooling down, engine ticking in relief at finally being able to rest after three days of nonstop driving. Far enough from his digging that if anyone was truly tailing him-Christ, he hopes they aren't tailing him—they'd take some time finding him, but only as far as he could make it while hauling bags of money in arms trembling from lack of sleep. The money waits like obedient dogs, a haphazard group, the solemn image of the mighty Gilliard legacy. Two generations of hard-fought profit, stolen in a night. Nathan thinks of the roar his brothers will let out when they realize what he's done, and digs faster.

Mood board for Ellie’s vampire work in progress. There are nine background photos. Top: a blurry image of driving past a forest, artwork of hands reaching toward a person, the door of a mysterious looking manor. Middle: a silhouette of a man opening curtains, close up of eyes with light blue eye liner, poster for season 1 of interview with the vampire with each character standing on a roof spike. Bottom: shot of a black woman looking at the camera tearfully, abstract artwork of a woman laying in the art with all parts of herself different colors, close up of a chest replaced by stars and a hand pressed against it. In the foreground: cut out of a moth, statue of two people embracing each other, blood splatter, and a man reclining. Note taped to image reads: what am I?
Graphic with a large image of an eye in grayscale, Scott McCall from Teen Wolf looking at his shadow of a wolf, a close up of a crescent moon necklace, a hand pointing a dagger toward their chest, a golden eye, and a peek at a misty forest. Covering all this on the right side of the graphic is a cut-out of a young man in a long-sleeved t-shirt. Wolf and Man. It only takes one night. The tideholder forgives. The tidebreaker punishes. And the tidemaster maintains.
Foreground images: brown eye with necklace dangling in front, naked back of black woman, man wearing animal skull, woman in halo crown and white dress, under shot of powerful man smiling, disc torch next to a window. Cut outs: woman with an African print shawl over right side of body, large sword, and ripped paper with text reading: Twelve, lift me! Twelve, free me! Twelve, heal me!
With all the pitch events happening in the new year, I really want to make more friends! 💗 Hi, I’m Ellie (Michelle)! I currently have three WIPs in the lineup:
- C. fantasy horror with vampires
- Urban fantasy w/ dysfunctional lycan family
- Epic fantasy with squabbling gods
Respectfully & from the bottom of my heart, if you think anything in the world could justify this, you’re a monster or an idiot or some impressive combination of both.
