Lore dump over. Hopefully folks enjoy that lil tid-bit about his creation, and the path to becoming what he is now :x

And so we come full circle.

The gods made him as mockery.
He lived a life starved of love, joy and warmth for many an age.
But as the song says~

"If the law says claws don't get a seat at the table. Then the table becomes my throne."

And his throne was well stocked; and he feasted well.

Much of the time of that age is known only to Daelos now. Lost to time unknown.

But on occasion that he speaks of it, he may just grin a little wider, his eyes shine a little brighter, and his stomach growl: As he recounts 'The Feast of Faith'.

When the gods who made him; finally sated his hunger~

It's an amusing notion, in it's own ways.

The gods were painted as benevolent and beautiful in their houses of worship. But were cruel and fickle

Daelos' temples as they grew, showed the monster of black and bone; but were known as houses of hope.

And soon, the old faith; waned.

The more he was feared, the more he was 'worshiped' in a way. Some people even began to leave offerings to the monster in the shadows.

And so began his path to ascension.

And over time, fear turned to favor. Favor, turned to fervor. Fervor; turned to faith.

The monster thought cruel; was kind.

Sadly, as you can imagine, things were not.. pleasant.
The cruelty of others myths, the mocking of the gods, the lonely existence.
Even a being with a pure heart has it's limit.
And Daelos reached his.

Gods gain power from being known, worshiped, feared.
And everyone feared the monster Daelos.

"The Cursed Shadow" "The Blight of Night" and the one that would ultimately become his name; Daelos. "The Monster in the Dark"

His form came from a curse. The simple boredom and whim of gods. Cruel and fickle beings, uncaring for anything but their own amusement. And his torment; was very filling.

Imagine if you will; A Wolf of charcoal hue. Starved sickly thin, as if hollow inside. To many teeth, to sharp. Longer of limb than should be natural, stick thin and razor clawed.
A beast that seems more shadow than solid, with bared bones of the arm and chest.
Eyes that glow violet in shadows.

Daelos' early life was spent under alot of cruelty. 'Wolves' often are seen as evil and bad omens.
So imagine how people reacted to one who's eyes glowed. Who's teeth seemed to sharp. Who's flesh wasn't all there.

For much of his life, he embodied what people saw him as. Why be different?

Daelos lore:

"So if my smile makes your children cry, remember who taught me how to bear my teeth.

This part from the song I posted is quite meaningful.

Even his name is lore.

Daelos, in the birth tongue of his original race's civilization; literally means 'The Monster in the Dark'

This scene, while a COTL inspired piece, is also the kind of Deity Daelos would have become, had he ascended while still fueled by rage, hate and pain.

He'd have become even more of a monster. He'd have lost more flesh and shown more bone.
And instead of a god of creation; he'd become one of death.

This song especially gives you a bit of an idea. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ryl3... Daelos' first life was shaped by cruelty because of what he was. Not just a wolf, but a monster of one. And for a long time; he embraced what others saw him as.

Long teeth, sharp claws, uncovered bone, glowing eyes.

Would you guys ever want lore about Daelos drawn? Including his time pre-ascension to his diety life?

As a tid-bit on that; Daelos wasn't born a deity. He Ascended.
He was born more a monster. and if not for some points in his first life; he was well on his way to becoming a much darker god.

Can't say I've really heard of anything like that here. We've over a dozen different vape places near me. Never had any issue with them even being broken into, much less bombed.

One of the main reasons you can't leave Li-po batteries in your checked luggage on planes; has to be carry on. If one cooked off in the planes hold, it'd be a disaster.

Started in a vape shop, so I'm assuming some of the batteries left on charge went pop.
Many vapes now use Li-Po batteries, which are semi infamous for swelling up and bursting into flames if they're damaged or overcharged. So likely something like that's happened with an old or damaged battery.

I get re-using a pose in a similar way if you like the kind of angle or setting; folks do it all the time after all.. but outright getting the image cloned is just.. fucking shitty x.x

I had a 'friend' do similar.. was getting a piece done I thought they'd like, so showed them the rough sketch since their character was even gonna be in it.

Then posts an exact copy of the image, they'd got their friend to do. Same pose. same chair; down to holding the glass of wine the same way..

Literally costs me like £15 a week to play, when I factor bus costs, entry fee's and shit.
To play against people using decks that just delete your shit for no cost, are immune to everything or straight up basically stop you from playing.

Nature of card games I guess.

It's just not fun anymore, hasn't been for some time.

Local playgroup is 3-4 players really, and all playing meta chase or brokenly powerful decks. You basically have to build the OP tournament/meta decks or you just get shit on.

And we have to pay to play, to.

Seems so at times x3 either it's not the type of character they like, or it looks to much like *character I've never heard of/didn't exist when I made mine*, or they prefer the old look and are gonna make damn sure I know they don't like the new one.

Plus, most 'big' streams I see.. not even thousands, but just hundreds of people..
Either noones posting. Or EVERYONES posting and you can't read shit.

But the streams in the low double digit range; tend to be way more interactive, both from the streamer and viewers

So no. I did not copy or rip off Marchosias. They didn't even exist when I was concepting Daelos, and getting him first drawn.
So enough with those comments.

Going forward; it's going to be an automatic block. I'm tired of it.

HAH XD It's happened a few times now, so thought I'd address it.

I've had people saying my boy Daelos; is a rip off of Marchosias from Cult of the Lamb's Woolhaven.
A game that wasn't even announced untill late 2025.. and Daelos' first images are from mid 2024...

That's something that always makes me chuckle.. replacing my motorcycle is gonna cost me in the £3500-4500 range.. some PARTIAL fursuits cost that now..
