Solar Heat Europe has signed this open letter, along with other 76 organisations, to call for an ambitious and timely implementation of the EU’s ETS2.
The scheme has already been delayed by one year, postponing critical climate action and costing €50 billion in lost auctioning revenues.

Earlier drafts explicitly supported solar thermal with concrete proposals. However, a last-minute change removed it from “Made in Europe” provisions, public interventions and public procurement rules, materially disadvantaging the EU-based solar thermal industry.
Today, the European Commission released the Industrial Accelerator Act, meant to strengthen Europe’s clean-tech manufacturing base and boost industrial competitiveness. But in its final version, the Act overlooks a renewable technology already widely manufactured in Europe: solar thermal. ☀️
