I finally landed a full time job earlier this year as a mid level engineer. My path wasn’t too unique; but it always happened one step at a time. 🥾

Privilege and an honor to sit down with @quincy.bsky.social of @freecodecamp.bsky.social recently. It was nice to reminisce of the road that got me into tech.
From going through #100devs helmed by @leonnoel.bsky.social , to working with @saron.bsky.social and @shashi.bsky.social;
If AI actually does something useful , which is rare, you gotta figure out the how and why.
For a couple of reasons right? Ultimately the burden of reviewing that code is going to fall to somebody, barring you work at an insane asylum.
The other thing is if you’re shipping code, you as the developer N E E D to understand how that works.
AI surprisingly one shot a pretty complex task today. I feel like question of what to do next is really important, especially for juniors.
You could just say LGTM 👍🏼 and keep moving on, but it’s far more beneficial imo to take the time to review what the AI did. Don’t leave that work for your mngr.
