This is what happens when one of the stupidest people in history is in charge of your government.

BREAKING: Judge Brann has ejected the new leaders of the NJ U.S. attorney's office, once again finding the Trump administration is illegally attempting to circumvent Senate confirmation.

He says this could result in dismissals of indictments.

Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, Greenland, Canada, and on and on and on. Lindsey Graham says they are โ€œmarching through the world.โ€
They donโ€™t care how many US soldiers they get killed. Meanwhile, theyโ€™re building concentration camps at home for Americans to die in. What will it take for people to wake up?

Absolutely false. Deadly tornadoes in early March in Michigan are almost unheard of. Go look at the stats. Science is what we do to keep from lying to ourselves-Feynman.

Climate change is changing the tornado season. A deadly tornado in Michigan in early March is extremely rare.

Worth watching the whole clip, but purely in propaganda terms it seems to me, admittedly just an amateur observer when it comes to war fighting, that it may be useful to send the message to the 91+ million Iranian civilians that we are not trying to kill them.

Even watching all the news itโ€™s hard to fully grasp how evil this country is under the current administration. Then consider a majority of people pay no attention. People like Trump secretly love forever war because itโ€™s made everyone so numb.

The highly specialized nature of the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) infrastructure represents an extraordinary value proposition that cannot be replicated by combining it with more generalized NSF programs. The NWSC is not a generic high-performance computing (HPC) facility; it is a laboratory uniquely optimized for atmospheric science workflows, with a hardware and storage architecture specifically designed to handle the massive, high-bandwidth data demands of Earth system modeling. Furthermore, its model of providing an excellent, free-at-point-of-use technical support team ensures that the focus remains on the science rather than the overhead of systems administration. a/b) Ownership of the NSF NCAR Mesa Lab building for public and private use.
Far more than just an office building, NSF NCAR Mesa Lab is an iconic and purpose-built facility designed specifically for the study of atmospheric science. Its position at the physical interface of the Rocky Mountain foothills and the Great Plains is a deliberate reflection of its mission, serving as a visible symbolโ€”in an iconically American settingโ€”of the federal government's enduring commitment to science in service of society. For many in the field, including myself, the Mesa Lab holds singular importance as a focal gathering point for the global atmospheric science community. My own early career exposure to weather and Earth system modeling, in fact, occurred within these walls, and I have long felt that the facilityโ€™s architecture and location inspire a necessary sense of awe regarding the atmosphereโ€™s complexity a

I am writing to provide a formal response to the Request for Information (RFI) regarding the proposed restructuring of the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and its critical weather science infrastructure contained within the January 23, 2026 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) entitled โ€œNSF Intent to Restructure Critical Weather Infrastructure.โ€ I submit these comments in my professional capacity as an atmospheric research scientist within the University of California, where my research focuses on the physics and dynamics of atmospheric processes related to extreme weather events and their role in shifting natural hazard and disaster risk.

My perspective is informed by a public-sector career dedicated to bridging the gap between fundamental atmospheric research and real-world application in an academic context, with a particular focus on understanding and mitigating

I just submitted my letter to NSF responding to its proposal to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). I argue that doing so would be an astonishing and avoidable misstep, and that federal support for the institution should in fact be *increased.* [1/4]

Personally, I don't want to see it happen. First, I never want to see American soil attacked, regardless of who owns that soil. And, the response would make what's happening in Iran now look like child's play. I do think though that the can of worms has been opened and it's only a matter of time.

Sea Levels Are Already Higher Than Many Scientists Think, New Study Shows Researchers found that a majority of studies on coastal sea levels underestimated how high water levels are, and hundreds of millions of people are closer to peril than previously thought.

Breaking News: Scientists have been using methods that underestimated how high sea levels already are, a new study found. One result is that hundreds of millions more people are already living dangerously close to the rising ocean than Western scientists had previously estimated.

Bernie's new billionaire wealth tax would raise $4.4T from the super-rich over the next decade.

That's more than enough to reverse Trump's Medicaid cuts, raise teacher pay, make childcare affordable, and build millions of affordable homes.

And guess what? The super-rich will still be super rich.
