About 15 seconds after I took that picture, the dog haved and vomitted.

One of the most iconic photos I took on our current trip to Sri Lanka: a dog apparently contemplating about enigmatic Lions Rock in Sigiriya, a natural formation holding a more than 1500 years old fortress and palace of King Kasyapa, illegitimate son who killed his father to become king himself.

Our boy Oskar was diagnosed with severe epilepsy at two, and had seizures repeatedly. We knew that he would not grow old. Nevertheless when his health suddenly deteriorated when he was six, we were not ready, it hit hard. It always will feel sudden, They are family. Fingers crossed for your gal.

Ok, second text was probably eaten by a gecko: The inscriptions date to the 1. century BC, and are both about 100ms long and one meter in height.
We skipped the second one, as the visitor centre was closed, and we did not wanted to leave our luggage unsupervised.

We’re having an interruption of current doom events, as we are currently traveling in Sri Lanka on my everlasting attempt to fit bits of (prehistoric) archaeology into vacation schedules.
Two days ago, we made a short stop at the Thonigala Rock Inscriptions on our way to Wilpattu National Park.
