I’m now 9/10 on the best picture films this year and feel fairly safe declaring this years bunch of nominees as “perfectly okay”.

Nowhere near the high of 2024, definitely overall stronger than 2025.

And, like 2024, still the likely winner is one of my least favourites of the lot.

One of the things I did not anticipate about getting older is going to gigs of artists I loved as a teenager and the gigs being full of teenagers that are not me any more
