A grid showing covers for the video games of Chrono Trigger, Pokemon Sword, Ico, Final Fantasy 7, StarCraft, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Transistor, Tekken 3, and Mass Effect 2
Skewed towards older, formative games, but it felt right.
(Pokemon Sword was my pandemic game and thus the one I've spent the most time with. I bred shinies.)

Invisigal does feel like the canon romance.
Cool! It sounds like your second play through mostly matches my first. I've seen the other ending online, and some of the Invisigal romance content, but would be curious to see more of Phenomaman's content.
The anti-ICE bundle is still up for a couple weeks! Some of the games I'm excited to read: Justicar, Midnight Muscadines, Exquisite Biome, Girl Underground.
That's just at a glance. There's so many!

Hope you feel better. How different was it on second play through? I liked my first run a lot.
I re-write my space game basically from the ground up every six to eight months, when really the draft from August 2020 was already just fine.
But like, it keeps getting better... and now I'm excited about new ideas again!
*Reposts appreciatedβ
My webstore heycentaur.com is finally up!
This took so many months of labour (mostly my partnerβs), but it is all ready and running.
Physical copies of Kala Mandala are now available, shipping to most of the world.
I'm in this! Get my beats for the classic signature devices and lots of other goodies.
Reviewing a draft of my space game from 2021, and I might have to steal some ideas from 5 years ago.
I don't usually go backwards, but there's good stuff here! And I understand better where it could fit now.

Play test of Restore the Warp on the pbta discord went well this weekend! The new background gear kits did really well.
Next change is gonna be playing with some moves to frame scenes. I've had one for "downtime" for a while, but think it's time to try one for "journeys" too. Maybe more!
In tabletop rpg design, sometimes gameplay doesn't come from the mechanics we add, but the ones we omit.

That side look is a great detail for the pose!
I love Galen's work! I'm not quite ready yet anyway, but I check now and again to see if he's re-opened for commissions.
Love the cover! Is this Galen's art?
Updating the G-sheets for Restore the Warp. Doing a play test next weekend with some changes to the ashcan!
(The ashcan stays as is. But if this works well, it could be cool stuff for the full game.)
That sucks, Iβm sorry
It's a pleasure to play in Jon's game, and a horror to actually think about the creatures in it.
If anyoneβs curious I miscalculated something so I had to start over and wait another 15 minutes, but yes I solved it.
Even by AI standards, which are super low, Grok is vile garbage.
Iβm playing a puzzle game where the current puzzleβs solution is βstare at the clock for 15 minutesβ and okay sure, but thatβs kinda boringβ¦
Regardless, it's making me turn back towards wanting to make the game for myself and more local friends. In 10 years time, I'll still be happy to have the game, no matter the state of the online "scene". (4/4)
Some of the new hotness I'm most excited about are Realis, 7 Part Pact, Triangle Agency, and Lumen 2.0.
But it also feels like pbta has a lot of life left with the recent funding of AW 3e, the new +1 exp jam. (3/4), and a few active discords.
I sometimes worry I've missed the window to catch a big audience with Restore the Warp by not getting it out faster.
Because of tariffs. Because twitter dying. And because it feels like the trend is moving towards new systems. (2/4)
This is a really great video! It's interesting to reflect on my own experience with the timeline. Getting into itch around 2020, it already felt like it'd always been there.
The idea of the golden age ending also plays into some pre-existing anxieties (1/4)
In 2026, I'm excited to fill out the rest of Restore the Warp, do more tests, and continue getting wider feedback.

Submit your best rpg blog posts to the bloggies! Especially if they weren't dungeon-game related, I'd love to see more cross-pollination between scenes this round.
This list is my fav thing to come out of Magic doing license tie ins.
