Last Wednesday, news broke that Prof Biodun Jeyifo, one of Nigeria's "brightest literary minds" (Vanguard NG) passed away in Ibadan at 80 years old. Just over a month before, he'd attended a symposium in his honor, at which he was able to hear and reflect on his impact in African Studies.

There’s now been two mass shootings just two months apart in the communities I live and work in 🤬. Mental exhaustion doesn’t even begin to describe what that feels like.

I guess that’s the news for you. The side wall in question was one of my favorite places to walk by. Throughout Pawtucket and Providence, local artists paint murals on publicly accessible buildings/walls. This particular one traces the history of the Industrial Revolution in Pawtucket
