Finished S-Ranking all main courses in #SonicRacingCrossworlds and here's my tier list regarding my thoughts. TBH most of them weren't that bad and some of them were genuinely a good time. But good lord some of these tracks demand a lot from you.

Happy Mario Day to those who celebrate it.
Including the black & white filter.
tbf this is in line with how wild the first movie's casting was and this is just adding on to the insanity
Gorons are immune to lava, I dunno maybe they could survive an explosion inside their stomach
Yes, no question.
Literal baddie in the manga
The story is simple compared to MGS2, but that worked to its benefit. Naked Snake is probably my favorite character is the franchise now and the final hour hit me like a freight train. Relatively easy to digest while still being engaging throughout, though I know MGS4 is gonna throw me for a loop.
I also appreciate how MGS3 keeps the momentum going. Outside of the very beginning, after the Virtuous Mission, and the ending, MGS3's gameplay to story ratio is about 75%-25%, and coming off of MGS2, that was liberating. There's also next to no backtracking, so there's always something new.
The boss fights were much better this time around. The End and The Boss were the highlights with their approach to stealth combat. Kinda wish the Shagohod fight wasn't bombarded with EVA's bike shooting gallery both before and after the fight, but that was my only real nitpick in terms of gameplay.
Finished Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Holy shit, this was phenomenal. The jungle setting makes for a perfect contrast to the rest of the series with enhanced gameplay and smoother pacing. CQC is a wonderful addition to a tried and true formula and offers choices via player expression. 10/10.

The script was written in 1999 and basically predicted social media, AI, media censorship, political imbalance, I could go on. It's so chilling listening to the Patriots tell you what's really going on and connecting the dots yourself.
Also; call me crazy, but I think I prefer this soundtrack over MGS1's. The high-tech spy vibe the ost provides is right up my alley when it comes to stealth action and I can't get enough of it. The caution theme used in the Plant chapter is one of my favorites for its calm yet unnerving atmosphere.
I think I like this about as much as MGS. Different strengths and weaknesses in terms of mechanics, gameplay, and story pacing. Not a fan of Big Shell's structure, but at least the areas are small and compact. Can be tense with heightened enemy AI, which was refreshing since MGS was easy to beat.
Finished Metal Gear Solid 2 for the first time and it was better than I imagined. Gameplay is heightened from the first game with new features and obstacles backed by a story that throws you for a loop from beginning to end. Going in, I feared the Emma section but I cleared it with no issues. 9/10
Also playing this immediately after Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake made me realize how much Kojima loved his ideas and wanted to carry them over for more players to experience. They aren't 1-to-1 the same, but eerily similar in a lot of ways.
Finished Metal Gear Solid, and despite playing this 2 times before, it's probably the closest thing to a masterpiece. Level design's more streamlined with a greater focus on narrative backed by great set pieces. My only issues stemmed from Disc 2 exclusively with bad pacing and last 2 bosses. 9/10.
Finished Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and this... THIS is damn good. Not perfect, I think the backtracking is overplayed and the card keys still suck, but Kojima went above and beyond with the narrative that kept me hooked throughout. A major improvement over the original in every aspect. 8/10.
I've been playing them off the Master Collection on Steam. As far as graphics and sound go, I can manage. Any problems I have with the MSX games are on mechanics and design choices that'd be already baked into the original versions. Good to know though, thank you!
It's definitely a relic of its time, revolutionary in some aspects for sure. I will say though I've started playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and it's shaping up to be a lot better.
Finished Metal Gear for the MSX and it was about what I expected. I admire how future games improved the formula that started here, but christ this game is dated as hell. Confusing layouts, bullshit insta-kill moments, and that bitch Jennifer being picky as hell on when you can call her. 4/10.
I finished OFF, and impressions were very positive. I've always been a fan of RPGMaker games for their creativity, and OFF is no exception with its themes of morality and light horror. I can see how this game influenced many beloved indie RPGs like Undertale, even if it's aged in terms of gameplay.

TBH at most I'd really only want to get friendships with Jet and Blaze up to max rank for their specific titles, I don't think the Racing Master title you get for clearing all these is worth it in the long run. Not to mention it was already a huge grind to even get to this point.
I just unlocked the special challenges and good lord the struggle is too real. #SonictheHedgehog #SonicRacingCrossworlds #Crossworlds
