We had one in the middle of our road yesterday. It eventually hid under a bush and then flew back to NT Clandon House where it came from.

Red squirrel on bird feeder.

Red squirrel on bird feeder.

The Red Squirrels still have 'tufted ears' at the moment - but will soon lose the extra fur as Spring gets warmer. Two of them here on different sets of bird feeders this morning. Then to the hazel nuts to grab and bury somewhere in the forest.

That’s the good bit. The bad bit is – the family. Holly's husband Dylan is growing more distant by the minute, while his wayward twin Seth and their widowed mother Elaine have problems of their own. And then there’s Megan.

Why are so many frustrations caused by computer problems? Yesterday OH was struggling to upload a photo of our broken Smart meter on his laptop while I was creating a new 10 letter password with bells & whistles to log on to the council portal to pay Β£75 for the garden bin!

A lot of schools ask the children if they would like to wear night time attire and bring in their favourite bedtime story.

A rain-filled puddle lies on a brick-paved walkway, its irregular shape stretching diagonally across the frame. The reddish and brown rectangular bricks, darkened by moisture, form a textured border around the water. Inside the puddle, the reflection of a tall, narrow church steeple rises upward, tapering to a point; the tower beneath the spire appears pale yellow or tan, with a darker circular opening that suggests a clock face or louvered window. Bare tree branches spread across the reflection like a web of dark lines, indicating leafless trees overhead, likely in late fall or winter. Raindrops strike the puddle’s surface, creating small circular ripples that gently distort the reflected steeple and branches. The overall mood is quiet and wintry, with cool gray tones in the water and sky contrasting against the warm, wet bricks.

I am late to reading this powerful debut & can honestly say that I was left bereft on completion

A sombre & emotive tale
A gut-wrenching & compassionate love story
A devastating & haunting read that hits hard

A diary found at the back of a bookshelf in a local library brings excitement and solace to a lonely young woman seeking peace, but as events of the past begin to happen again in the present, the reader must ask herself… what is her connection to this story?

A black and white photograph in portrait format. It shows a small window in a very thick castle wall of rough stone. There is glass in the window and a patterned jug of dried flowers has been placed on the windowsill.

25 Library Terrace by Natalie Fergie #TuesdayBookBlog 25 Library Terrace in Edinburgh is a house where lives are changed. In 1911, new resident Ursula Black embraces women's suffrage in the form of census protest, discovers vegetarianism, and learns just how difficult it can be to bring up someone else's children. In 1931, the house becomes part of a radical experiment in a different way of living, and a family secret from the past is uncovered.
