Oh this is a good way to explain it! I say to kiddo that boredom is good for you, because it forces you to be creative!

Kiddo has 3 hours of screen time on Saturdays and Sundays. Usually he's very good at moderating his usage and spreading out his time.

Not this weekend. He's used it all up as soon as he got out of bed, both days, and all subsequent time has been filled with constant iterations of "I'm bored."

Previous generations of rich people knew that it was important for them to shut the fuck up and build libraries and parks and hospitals since that was the only way we would tolerate them in society. This generation of rich people have forgotten why this was necessary. We should remind them.

Yessss it's one of my fave things! Kiddo's room is next. We are changing his bed for a cute bunk bed for when his girlfriend comes to stay or my stepdaughter. He wants a forest room with everything frogs and mushrooms 🥰🥰

I took the photo last night so I know it's dark, but look how cosy my living room is! I'm actually so proud of how it has come together.

I have spent weeks decluttering so that we could have a space that actually feels relaxing. This is what I've always wanted 🌻💛

Pretty much all of my furniture is either a decade old, or secondhand, or both. And that's wonderfully sustainable and frugal, but I'm thrilled to finally have something I picked out just because I can 💖

It has taken us two hours to take a corner sofa bed from my living room to outside.

I am exhausted and I have caught my fingers too many times to be reasonable 😭

But my new sofa comes tomorrow and I am legitimately excited to have a sofa that I have chosen and bought brand new 🎉

You would think that the fact my sofa somehow made its way *into* my house, my friend and I would be able to take it back out.

Alas, my doorways are too narrow and now my friend has left to fetch tools to literally dismantle it 😂

The rain is getting a bit ridiculous now. I don't remember ever having such a dreary, damp start to a year.

It's wild how you can't just phone up your GP's surgery and say 'can I have an appointment?' any more. You have to play phonecall lottery early for a phone appointment to determine if you need to see an actual human and if you don't get through by 9am you get to try again another day.
