Most people now have seen the famous IBM quote saying "a computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision".
21st century execs updated that to, a computer can never be held accountable...and that's a good thing!
I think I can summarise all that as "you've had it too good for too long, peasants."

Pleasure!
Okay, that is interesting then.
I think people who say that were brought up on 1990s sci fi and similar where a lot of plot lines concerned soldiers following their conscience and disobeying illegal or immoral orders.
In the real world, militaries in western countries are really *very* keen on people following orders.
If I see a monstrous character as cool, does that not say more about me than the work?
It is, after all, the paper for those who find the Telegraph too moderate.
And, ironically, if anyone should have their smartphones confiscated and be banned from the internet, it's the political and media class.
Available to politicians and spads only, I assume
Strange thing that though, because I use WhatsApp and none of my messages have ever disappeared, none of my friends have said this either
