I once used a paper ashtray from the Rutgers Student Center. From used book stores, I found a card from a NYC radio repair shop, a ticket stub from a 1960 championship fight at the Polo Grounds in a copy of It Can’t Happen Here, and a mysterious photo in a 1st edition Ezra Pound.
Indeed, combined with Democrats and independents in several swing states who wouldn’t vote for Harris because of Biden’s record on Palestine.
Thank you for reposting, @evecastle.bsky.social !!!
Good to know for the #PoemsAbout this week. I think it’s more necrophilia if it involves roadkill. I just hope people will be able to separate the narrator from the poet.

Does a poem about bestiality require a trigger warning?
🙏 Thank you, Paul!
I also love the title of your book!
I love this, especially the lovely last five lines. Best wishes for your book launch!!!
Wow! that’s good company!!!
Wow, I learn so much every week. I need to look that up!!!
One day Trump ran out of shoe polish and smeared shit on his face instead. No one noticed because the lies that left his foul mouth were equally putrid.

Pete Hegseth
literally
bloody stool
“Knocking over everything that’s standing in your way.
Can you tell me just how many kids you killed today?
You’re a soldier…”
Hegseth’s ideal warrior.

Boots on the ground: “We haven’t talked about it. At some point, maybe we will. It would be a great thing. Right now, we’re just decimating them.”
They haven’t talked about it? Really?
It would be a great thing? What exactly would be great about it?
Just decimating them? That means killing children.
Yes, tools for a sick idiot.
I wish the deployed military had filed a class action suit as soon as Hegseth called it a war. They should not be following illegal orders to fight a war Congress did not declare. I do not support the troops.

I’ll be setting my clock ahead to November 3rd. 🌊
The gift that keeps on giving…
In the Northern Hemisphere, it is traditionally called the worm moon because the ground is thawing and the earthworms become active. The next moon will be the pink full moon because the phlox will start blooming, signaling spring.
I don’t know if everyone knows it, but the lucid dreams came to me because the then full moon this week was the worm moon and it was actually a blood moon because of the eclipse, which was near sunrise in my time zone. Lucid dreams also tend to happen around dawn as we are about to wake up.
Thank you, Philippa! I, too, have trouble with such scenes, even though I have written several. The poem took on its own life. Believe it or not, I was originally thinking of no fly zone because I live near a joint army, navy, air force base.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you can see it!
I know how that feels. The vast majority of poems are declined, but eventually I think you are a great fit for the right editor. Hey, #PoemsAbout poets, any advice on publications that have @saintghost.bsky.social kind of vibe?
HS! That’s a big bat!!!
I also like the division into stanzas. I do like your other style, but the stanza structure made it easier to follow for me.
This poem is 💯!!!
I don’t even know where to start. Each stanza brings a new, intense image. I hope you will submit this poem for publication. This poem is worthy of an entire period of class discussion. 👏👏👏
