The inconsistency makes it harder to dismiss entirely, but people should absolutely approach everything about this initiative with skepticism.

Ultimately, he only cares about his grift, which includes getting rid of vaccines. And yet, sometimes he throws things out there that don't look harmful on the surface, and then you get some people saying that maybe MAHA gets some things right.
I see so many similarities here with how RFK preys on parents of autistic kids. People are vulnerable to snake oil when they are desperate and have been failed by social and medical systems. People who have been shut out of society are grateful to be simply seen, and RFK sees them.
I think this will sow a ton of confusion to include reputable researchers alongside the inevitable snake oil that is RFK Jr's bread and butter. It takes more effort to sort through info than to just declare the whole site to be pseudoscience.
Surprisingly, the Clinical Guidelines section of the website links to a provider manual put out by Dr. David Putrino at Mount Sinai, who is absolutely a real doctor doing real science to help Long Covid patients.
Op-ed out today in @thesicktimes.org from PLRC co-lead @leticiasaurus.bsky.social and @jencurtinmd.bsky.social on the #LongCovid Treatment Guide!
βToo often, people with Long COVID hearβ¦ not much can be done for them at this point. Weβ¦ believe it is a fallacy that hinders access to careβ
Disability is more than a medical diagnosis or perceived deficit. It is a political, social, and cultural identity that is not experienced in isolation and it cannot be separated out from race, gender, class, and other experiences. Think bigger than rights-based models: Think disability justice.
Thinking a lot today about how much of that disablism comes from people who identify as progressives and fail to understand how disablism, eugenics, and larger histories of oppression are deeply tied to one another. That includes, BTW, disabled people who fail to engage with overlapping oppressions.
Today is the 36th anniversary of the Capitol Crawl and disabled people are still fighting for basic rights in a society that's actively working to undermine them, surrounded by systemic disablism.
(This is a corrected thread TY to the person who flagged that I said 26th, not 36th!)

screenshot from Autonomy News: However, as QueerDocβs attorney Paula Ramer pointed out, itβs perfectly legal for medical providers to prescribe drugs "off-labelββmeaning for uses or at doses not specifically approved by the FDA. The Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act regulates how manufacturers can label and advertise medications, not how medical providers prescribe them to patients. In response to a question from Judge Richard Paez, a Bill Clinton employee, the DOJβs Welch claimed gender-affirming care providers like QueerDoc could be committing βconspiracy [with manufacturers] to engage in this kind of off-label promotion.β Off-label prescriptions are incredibly common, with different studies finding that anywhere from 21 percent to nearly one-third of all prescriptions are off-label. FDA approval is expensive and complicated, and manufacturers donβt often spend the millions of dollars required for supplemental approvals when their drug is already on the market.
A DOJ attorney claimed puberty blockers and hormones may be βmisbrandedβ when used for trans people's healthcare and providers may be engaging in βconspiracy [with manufacturers] to engage in this kind of off-label promotion.β

That sounds like a wonderful community to try to create, & it's also SO much work to build things like this when you have an energy-limiting illness. My disabled kid is pretty isolated, but he does go out with a support worker once a week (where he masks inconsistently but so far hasn't gotten sick)
As a parent in another generationally disabled family, this piece resonates so much. I've managed to find community with other previously disabled folks who developed LC, but I struggle with the ableism toward families like mine in spaces where Covid is people's first exposure to disability issues.
Bizarre for Frith say that increased autism diagnoses "overshadows the needs of those with intellectual disabilities, who require much more intensive support." I don't know a single late-diagnosed #ActuallyAutistic self-advocates who wants to erase high-support needs people.
Exactly. My kid doesn't have an intellectual disability but he has much higher support needs than I ever did. The commonality is that neither group of autistics gets the support we need.
Experts have cautioned the general public about the dangers of autism acceptance, warning that it may lead to autistic people being treated like human beings.
Protect trans kids.
These are children.
They are already at risk of bullying and hate crimes.
Now their well-established, thoroughly studied, life-saving health care is under threat.
If we care about children, we must defend them.
