Spoiler alert—there is no 5-alarm fire and reducing risks involve the very solutions that many of you have advocated for: faster interconnection queue processing times and more interstate transmission lines. You’re welcome. lnkd.in/eBbKJAUP

Grid Strategies’ report fixed “fixed it” —they used credible assumptions and trusted, industry-standard data sources to arrive at a realistic national risk assessment.
If you listened to #NERC present its #2025NERCLTRA during FERC’s last open meeting and asked yourself—what is happening here; did John Maura just say that; and did Comr. Rosner ask NERC to republish its report?? This post is for you!
Trump's DOE is forcing coal plants to keep operating, based on flimsy projections that many disagree with -- including the grid operator in the Midwest. Burning coal just for fun is going to be costly and Consumers Energy customers are going to get the bill.
Don't take my word for it -- see for yourself since they discussed their opinion during FERC’s RA Technical Conference – day one at 1:07:40 and day two at 50:20 and 2:31:00: www.ferc.gov/news-events/...
With the Campbell 202c order, DOE is attempting to make RMR-like decisions that are unwarranted. DOE cites NERC’s summer assessment report as support, but even MISO, its market monitor, and at least one of its member states (Wisconsin PUC) think that the report lacks merit.
Our statement from Alliance co-chairs New York Governor Kathy Hochul and New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham: “The federal government cannot unilaterally strip states’ independent constitutional authority. We are a nation of states — and laws — and we will not be deterred. We will keep advancing solutions to the climate crisis that safeguard Americans’ fundamental right to clean air and water, create good-paying jobs, grow the clean energy economy, and make our future healthier and safer.”
Today, the President issued an executive order targeting states’ authority to tackle the climate crisis.

Trump said he’ll end offshore wind “on day one.” Experts say he can’t do that, but his administration could cause plenty of trouble for the nascent industry. 🔌💡
