If you don't want to mask in crowded indoor spaces, you can just admit that and say it's because of social conformity norms & peer pressure.
Because it's not about science. Don't bend the science to fit a social comfort choice

A+ State of the Union counterprogramming by TCM.
βI donβt think there is any way to regain that trust [in science] other than have the viruses do the education, and the bacteria do the education, and then people will realize they paid way too high a cost."

Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

Itβs been 33 years since the U.S. last conducted a nuclear test. That decision made the world safer. Now, Trump is moving to restart nuclear weapons testing. Thereβs no reason for this. Itβs reckless, unnecessary, and dangerously irresponsible.
Where is Congress? This is a big deal.
Playing politics with people lives is diabolical. I can't stop thinking about how many poor folks in the US are scrambling to find access to food.
Hating poor folks is not political ideology. It's just evil.
Pandemics change people. We arenβt used to dealing with the mass death, disability & uncertainty that comes with them
Unfortunately due to technology & misinformation, society is choosing NOT to process its collective trauma
It IS changing us. Not for the better. Weβre detached, colder & apathetic
THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a dual-antibody treatment that remains effective against ALL SARS-CoV-2 variants by targeting a less-mutable part of the virus. This breakthrough could lead to longer-lasting therapies that OUTPACE viral evolution. π§ͺπ§΅β¬οΈ
What a different world we could have.
The coolest thing Iβve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025.
This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.
Itβs hard to explain the hope I had at the beginning of the pandemic. I was scared, but I also thought we were going to become a more inclusive society. We would care more about chronic illness.
Having that hope ripped away and replaced with eugenics & fascism has been incredibly painful.
All the folks who exited NBC today. Seen together, hoo boy. Message received.
The Department of Veterans Affairs has terminated over 1,400 employees.
For the US to side with Russia and North Korea to oppose a UN resolution condemning the illegal invasion of Ukraine defies all common sense and adds insult to the countless injuries suffered by the brave Ukrainian people. edition.cnn.com/2025/02/24/p...

More of this pointed ridicule, please.
This is the uncomfortable truth. π

If you think mask bans are βno big dealβ because thereβs medical exemptions, consider the following:
Police are not doctors
Many disabilities are invisible
Everyone should have the right to protect their health
Criminalizing masks sends a message that maskers are βbadβ. It emboldens anti-maskers
El Capitan displays a massive American flag upside downβthe traditional signal of distress or extreme emergency.
SWASTICARS?
That's new! π

I wish people could understand this risk prior to having to experience it. ME/CFS has prevented me from participating with Covid to date. Do not recommend.
"Bird Flu Is a National Embarrassment", according to an opinion piece by Katherine J. Wu in the Atlantic:
America should have more aggressively intervened almost a year ago.
