Excellent work
Up next, the Klinkhamer. I'll do a dozen standard like this, a few hi-viz post, a few all black with hi-viz post, and I'm also going to try black posts this year for visibility in high glare.

Getting back to the vise. Starting with 100 EHC for Tie-A-Thon

Weight weight don't tell me
How?
Get the Redington CT. Go to a local fly shop if possible, they'll recommend a good inexpensive reel & decent line. This is a rod you won't immediately want to upgrade out of as you learn (vs. the others you listed)
#flyfishing people - do you tie your own leaders? please talk me out of it....
Love the pheasant tail variation
Drop the brand info, please!
A brook trout in a fishing net
Success from the Guides' Choice Hares Ear tonight. Amazed how well a sz 14 klink works as an indicator and can easily float a weighted & beaded sz 16 nymph.

This was the first year I tied klinkhammers for my dry box.
Glad to find that they work!

First trout of the year, on a brook I hadn't fished before today. 15 days earlier than my first trout last year. Took a sz 14 prince nymph tied this winter.

Very cool to see one of my local fly shops, Tied by Night, featured by Flylords in this video. Roland is a local legend. Even seems like he tidied up the shop for this video!

Ahhh I see. I really like the cam style. Makes it easier to adjust during tying, like flipping a parachute fly sideways, etc.
Where are you seeing the new traveler with a screw jaw? I read the only difference was a wider base and the material clip coming included.
So what were the tips ๐ง๐ง
Dr slick mitten clamps!!
How do you like the Recon?

Ok, what's everyone's fav online #flyfishing retailer that's offering that SA 2-for-1 deal?
I've always wondered, why use dry fly hackle for this style of hopper? It's supposed to imitate legs, which soft hackle would do IN & on the water and without changing the floating angle of the fly.
Reading @davidrcoggins.bsky.social "The Optimist" and it's the first time I've heard someone other than my own father wax poetic about Snyder's of Hanover brown box pretzels
Also notable is how the feathers are more narrow and longer
Mid-tie thought: isn't a stimulator just a really big elk hair caddis? #flytying
aoc and bernie look like every local action news anchor team.
Realized today that the only "true" dry flies I tied this winter are Elk Hair Caddis, Para-Adams, and Stimulators ๐ Everything else is a foam hopper or an emerger.
Should I tie up any other "true" dries?

Stepping out of my comfort zone to spin some deer hair for bass flies. This is as close as I have come so far to a presentable Taps Bug
