Been a bit lax in playing radio for a few years. HOA and the last two townhouses have been a horror for antenna. Getting back to free-range radio soon as I have a new Icom 705. Digital Modes, APRS, ISS, General Class mischief.

Picked up a few more #LoRa devices, installing #meshcore on these to see how that functions versus #meshtastic Going to have to carry it around as nothing popping up here at the house. So no difference so far, all quiet on the LoRa Front.

Some #aurora fun coming! Region 4334 has launched more than 4 solar storms since January 6. Some are headed to Earth! Along with fast solar wind picking up January 9, storm conditions could peak by January 11. G1 conditions expected thus far, but another storm just launched so forecasts may change!

If you missed out on the chance to get the SSTV Series 30 images via the ISS, there's an event coming up to fulfill that need.

Satellite RS-38S will begin transmitting these images "within the next 5-7 days". Not all details are finalized, but what we know is below!

As of Tuesday, 4 November, the ISS Columbus Module radio is configured as a crossband repeater with a downlink on 437.800 MHz and an uplink on 145.990 MHz using PL 67 Hz. The Service Module radio is set for Packet (APRS) on 145.825 MHz for both uplink and downlink. HamTV is currently active, transmitting a blank AV signal on 2395 MHz (2.395 GHz). From 12–20 November, SSTV Series 30 will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the International Space Station and Scouting by sending 12 PD-120 images over nine days, with transmissions beginning around 17:30 UTC (12:30 PM ET) on Wednesday, 12 November on 145.800 MHz; a certificate will be available. Upcoming ARISS 25th anniversary milestones include the first test of the ISS amateur radio payload on 13 November during Expedition 1 (with Russia and then the USA), and the first educational contact on 21 December with Bill Shepherd and The Burbank School in the US. All event timings are subject to change.
