Why do men dominate the film industry? Why aren’t women doing box office numbers like men?
I need to do research. What are we missing? Even psychological thrillers that are female driven are directed by men.
Gone Girl, Black Swan, The Girl on the Train, The Housemaid.
I’m done crowdfunding. I quit. I’ll work my jobs.
I’m tired of mediocre men meeting their crowdfunding goal and making some film that doesn’t entertain, inspire or educate its audience. It just exists because they want to be a filmmaker or writer.
Yet I want to bring joy to people. And educate. K.
I see men crowdfunding and when women do, we struggle. Like with making a feature film.
Yet audiences throw money at them, even when they can’t write or make a good film.
The Woman Who Knows was top 10% on Coverfly. Depicts an ill black woman spiraling. But keep supporting just men who bomb.
I’ll never understand why women have a hard time making their own feature films, but I’m experiencing it.
