Last night BBC South East did an explainer on the history of the i360 and Labour leader Bella Sankey spoke of her sadness about what couldβve been with that Β£51m.
A poster stuck on the windows of Green Party HQ, Brighton, calling for them to pay back the 51 million pounds wasted on the i360 as it goes into insolvency today.
Β£51 million is a debt our council could do without. An avoidable waste and monument to failure. With the challenges our city faces, how this useless donut on a stick was ever considered a sound use of public money is beyond me.

A sad day for Brighton and Hove as the i360 goes bust.
This will remain as a monument to the Green Partyβs failure in our city.

It's been so gratifying to watch progress on this work escalate over the last couple of months - when we lived by the sea in Kemptown, it was our first impression of the city we'd just moved half a world away to dwell in, so wasn't a great first impression π«£
