“But, as you see, it's a beautiful day, the Strait of Hormuz is open and people are having a wonderful time.”
She doesn’t look anything like her Tinder profile picture.
I've read so many theories as to why Trump has started the war with Iran. My take is that there isn't a grand scheme to these things. There is no master plan. There are no long-term goals. These people are so utterly stupid in everything else they do, so why should this be different?
Thunder by AC/DC in a St Patrick's Day-ish remix with an Irish sound is certainly a new experience...
They probably knew their audience... 👧❤️👧
And leave poor Callisto all by her lonesome? No wonder she turned evil. 😁
Me: They're making "collector's" boxes of cereal packaging?!? Pft! So stupid!
Also me: I NEED THE CALLISTO ONE!
Garius remembers Sir Terry, and crafts his parody/homages with great love.
Pause a moment & remember how a certain furious writer inspired so many of us.
Then go read some Discworld. Follow @garius for neglected history, shrewd observations on corporations, cat photos, & eventually, his fiction.
CJEU press release: Member State legislation which does not permit the amendment of the gender data of one of its nationals who has exercised his or her right to freedom of movement is contrary to EU law A Bulgarian national was registered at birth as being male, with a name, personal identification number and identity documents corresponding to that sex. She currently lives in Italy, where she has begun hormone therapy, and now presents herself as a woman. She instituted proceedings before the Bulgarian courts seeking a declaration that she is a female person and to have her civil status data amended on her birth certificate. Despite the medical opinions and legal assessments confirming the gender identity claimed, her request was rejected. According to national legislation, as interpreted by the plenary assembly of civil chambers of the Bulgarian Supreme Court of Cassation, the term ‘sex’ must be understood in its biological sense, excluding any amendment of the particulars relating to sex, name and identification number. The public interest, based on the moral and/or religious values of Bulgarian society, thus prevails over the interests of transgender persons. Hearing the dispute, the Bulgarian Supreme Court of Cassation has doubts as to the compatibility of that legislation with EU law and has referred the matter to the Court of Justice. In its judgment, the Court holds that EU law precludes legislation of a Member State which does not permit the amendment of the gender data in the civil status registers of one of its nationals who has exercised his or her right to move and reside freely in another Member State. The Court emphasises first of all that, while the issue of identity documents falls within the competence of the Member States, they must exercise that competence in compliance with EU law...
Huge trans rights ruling from the EU's top court - if someone moves to another EU country and transitions, their home country can't refuse to amend their registration details to match their lived gender identity
there was also a Stanford study that found that a surge in AI slop by lazy people actually created significantly more work for others who had to decipher and correct it
this "I'm being efficient" (but not really) vibes well with the American obsession with artifice and appearing productive
Terry Pratchett.
We lost one of the greatest writers of the 20th and 21st century 11 years ago today. Crack open "Small Gods" in his memory, or any other of his books. They are all masterpieces.
Cool! And I think MaRo would fight with tooth and nail against this kind of card becoming real.. 😆
This thread is hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣

There is no war, but the war will end soon and is just beginning.
This kind of internal backstabbing seems to happen in all autocratic governments/dictatorships. I'm just waiting for a Night of the Long Knives type of event that I'm sure will happen when the orange fucker dies.
I am awaiting the unholy holiday combination of sakura pumpkin spice.

Fortunately I have not lost my sense of perspective.
I used to have this but lost it at some point. I remember it was a lot of just reading the book.
This is the sort of thing a cashless society robs us of, the opportunity to try to get away with paying the bus fare in Carthaginian currency www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
If I had a nickel for every time Franz Ferdinand was involved in the precursor events of a world war, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice
I made a browser extension!

if you need to make screenshots for legal purposes, e.g. to report a crime, atomshot has long been the to-go solution. But only for Chromium browsers. I ported it to Gecko (Firefox, Waterfox, LibreWolf etc.), added some new features etc.
They had the perfect "enemies to friends to lovers" set-up with Ha Yun Gyeong's character, but squandered it because, well it's a kdrama... 😀
I’m not a big curling guy, but I get the significance of this, and WOW it’s mind-blowing. Some are calling it the best shot in curling history! #TeamCanada at the #ParalympicGames.
Never miss a chance to tell my favourite science joke:
Q: What did Crick & Watson discover?
A: Rosalind Franklin’s lab book.
