Allowing unfettered patient-led access to F2F appts helps only those with the fastest fingers or shouting loudest - not necessarily those in greatest need.
Our teams are a precious, scarce resource and we need to deploy them where they can do the most good. We can’t do more than this - value it!
Today our 23K patient practice managed 811 new requests from patients using a combination of online, telephone & face-to-face consultations - as many as possible received the care they needed. If we only offered F2F, we’d only have been able to help 250-300 pts, so who were we not meant to help?

Issues from DPO were to do with asymmetrical consent i.e. do ill people really know what they are agreeing to at the point of their consultation?
We’ve had DPO approval to use the dictate function, but not the ambient note scribe function yet. Not tried it yet myself though.
Great to celebrate Son No. 1’ success at his Sheffield Hallam University graduation day today. I remembered his suit but forgot my own suit trousers, so had to rock a suit jacket with jeans, like a cut-price Jeremy Clarkson. Proud Dad, embarrassed wife & son! #graduationday
