It'll require a little bit of cognitive mash-up on your part, but when you go up to speak, see the space in D&D terms rather than historical ones and you should be fine.

Well don't keep us in suspense.
(Low-key one of the problems with Bluesky is that not enough people post pictures of food here.)
(Super weird to think I just said that unironically.)
The leopards have finally come for Maggie. DJT even putting her face out there for the leopards.

Rainbow City Orchestra at Benaroya Hall tonight. The Level Up! Vocal Ensemble will also be performing two songs. Both daughters are in Level Up! and one will conduct a piece she arranged. π
< 450ft. It has been snowing hard all day but it's warm enough not only to be melting on the roads it's dripping off the trees. It looks basically the same at lower elevations, but the key thing with my street is that stuff takes a lot longer to melt off.
Oh yeah I think we're very much on the same page here, but I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to humblegloat what a correct decision it was to switch. π
Was casually listening to No Doubt's 'Spiderweb' on the radio and realized that the central idea of the song is functionally unfathomable to anyone under 30.
I don't think there was anything in 60s lyrics that would have required an explainer in the 90s.
This is a great short video and Chris has good insights, but the counterpoint to dealing with bodywork hassles is to remember that he'll never have to worry about coolant hoses, serpentine belts, water pumps, head gaskets, O2 sensors, catalytic converters, or a slipping transmission.
I live in this weird pocket at about 400-450' where some convergence of factors can lead us to be completely snowed or iced in while people two blocks away are fine. As long as it stays above freezing however we won't be stuck here.

Refreshing. Ds have duped themselves into supporting this kind of baloney for over 30 years now, going back to the CDA.
In the next two election cycles, it's not enough to change partisan control. A significant number of electeds in both parties need to be replaced. Public alignment around this core concept will be vital to getting representation that will enact the serious and fundamental reforms needed.
To your point however, it's not something that can be realistically accomplished under the current administration.
That's fine. From a strict *political* standpoint, the purpose of rhetoric is to sustain collective focus. It's neither too soon, nor insufficiently nuanced to advocate for abolition.
From a strict organizational mgmt standpoint, I don't see a realistic path forward to sanitize the agency of the corruption, malfeasance, thuggery, and white nationalism.

A common trope about electeds is the stereotype of officials w/o principles who merely "follow the polls." Yet we see over and over electeds ignoring wildly popular issues surfaced by polls THEY PAID FOR only to remain trapped by the dogma of their professional ecosystem.
WTF?
I was flying home from a business trip in Denver and when I got to the gate it was full of goths and I was like, "Sure this is a direct flight to Seattle but this seems a little TOO on the nose."
Then I realized it was an entire roller derby team and their entourage.
