Sigmund Freud.
Sigmund Freud.
2 things I learned today.
1. They're going to change the pictures on UK banknotes.
2. Right wingers are the most delicate snowflakes. Absolute fannies the lot of em.
If you're a Brit justifying Trump because it toppled a murderous regime, then:
1) You better not have ever said a word about Blair/Iraq, or you're a c***.
2) You should be questioning his plan to make sure the new regime isn't worse, or you're a c***.
3) You're a c***.
Brilliant answer. Thank you.
I can imagine. The issue hasn't affected my life at all but some of the bile I see directed at the trans community is disgusting and I can't imagine what it must feel like for that to be directed at you. โน๏ธ
Happily on BlueSky ๐ you can ask questions like this and take something away from the response - unlike Twitter where the last time I asked anything on trans issues I had to turn off notifications due to vile abuse coming from all sides.
That was my point - kids are vague and changeable so how are cases like those protected?
As I've just mentioned elsewhere, the replies have helped me realise my question showed as much about my lack of thought/understanding on the subject as it merited any answer.
๐๐ป๐
Thank you, I will take a look. ๐๐ป
Good answer. ๐๐ป
My Q was really what protections are in place to make sure children are not making decisions they later regret.
I do understand the analogy is not a good one and I showed a lack of understanding in my wording. ๐๐ป
Well, I think that today I tested how I react when talking about something I know very little about.
I'm proud to say I think I saw my ignorance and avoided being one of those know-it-all twats that pops up on just about every other online platform these days!
No, they were just kids who were experimenting, to the best of my knowledge.
I think today has reminded me why I don't touch this subject online. (My fault, not anyone else's, as my personal understanding is so poor that it needs more space than this format takes to fill the gaps for me.)
โฅ๏ธ๐๐ป
Understand and agree with your comment. ๐๐ป
I do understand it's different - I was making the point that a tattoo isn't as important and we regulate that.
As I've just replied elsewhere, my problem in any sensible debate here is my lack of experience or knowledge - a gap for me to go and fill.
Have a great day and thanks for the reply โฅ๏ธ๐๐ป
I'm not sure you've answered my posts - but I'm happy to concede that the gap here is my lack of knowledge.
I'm regularly frustrated by people so ignorant that debate at the appropriate level is not possible and I'm very much on the other side of that on the subject.
Have a great day โฅ๏ธ๐๐ป
I guess I may be missing the careful regulation that would have prevented them being given in those cases?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies. Have a good day in advance to everyone who doesn't. ๐๐ป
This is not a subject I have much personal experience of. I would worry about effects on children - my son had friends who identified as different genders but then changed their minds later, as kids are prone to do.
To be clear, I'm asking a question to help my understanding here and not making any argument.
What would be the difference between children having these hormones and getting a tattoo (which we sensibly don't allow until they are 18)?
What do you think the Tories would be doing in this situation?
Yes, I'm enjoying this particular change!
(P.S. I don't think I'm the sort of person you were talking about to be fair.)
Just when there were signs the UK economy was turning a corner, Trump does something else to absolutely fuck it. And then he has the gall to question whether we're a good ally.
You'd think GBeebies would be avoiding talking about capitalism, not opening the door to someone asking who is funding them and exactly why are they continuing to prop up a loss making enterprise?!
For Farage, opposition is just about taking the opposite view to the government. There's no logic or belief in anything for him, only that rule.
Badenoch's Tories have just devolved to the same level of simplicity. Conning the most stupid amongst the electorate is easier than a grown-up debate.
It is staggering how my age group, the over 50s, seem to have used all 'our' years on Earth to become more selfish/ignorant/stupid*!
*Delete as appropriate.
(Also, makes me proud to not be one of them, along with you ๐)
Just saw this chart and underneath it someone has written "not all over 65s".
Yes, we know, there's literally a massive picture telling everyone that.
FFS. We need to end democracy because as a society we're just too stupid to be trusted with it.
Is it that people simply can't afford to consume more? In which case, caution isn't the correct word.
On an actual serious note, not sure how true this is (it came from asking AI as I have no legal knowledge in this area), if this is right then it must be sailing close to the wind legally.
Absolutely disgusted to see Chris Philp doing brownface in this day and age.
Is there no end to the racism of the Tories?
With 8 seats...of which he is not even one of the holders.
You mean the unelected Zia Yusuf?
I'm starting to think Reform might not love democracy quite as much as they claim to, you know?
I think it's about time we considered changing Truss with treason! She's clearly twerking against her own nation for foreign money at this point, the question is, did it start after or before her time as PM?
