Yesssss, I can imagine! Honestly I've been tempted to create maps in like, the Hammer editor using Source or Goldsrc assets and porting those over.
But I do love that your last points are things I can relate to with my map ports, finding and adjusting all these little things to make it perfect

Had a motherboard problem this year and the replacement swap took like, half an hour to do or something, far better than others for sure

I was given ms paint doodles to do both of these commissions. You don't need ANY drawing experience to convey a concept to an artist who is willing to work with you. Stick figures and crude doodles are awesome. Just communicate.

I swear that like, a majority of Windows only open source projects are only that purely due to them using like, native Windows UI libraries and that's it.
I mean I could be wrong but it just feels like it from a surface level look at like, Source Engine tools at least
Gotta love having to do that everytime you make a new project and have to login to upload or test it :v
