I get it but it’s just not a good idea to being a home blanket on a plane.

What is my taste in books? Literally whatever novel I find at Urban Ore or splashed with water, in a warped wooden rack at the low rent health club I belong to in El Sobrante.

I hate novels that aren’t funny and are about a man’s journey to do something boring with suffering

Yes, I’m talking about Spire by William Golding

If there is one thing about me, I’m going to read the mid tier work of a great author but not their best work.

The Burning Hills by Louis L’Amour
Blind Date by Jerzy Kosinski
Trouble is my Business by Raymond Chandler
T is Trespass by Sue Grafton

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate β€” overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

Dude, same. And Modern Lovers, Lou Reed, Catherine Wheel… anything to face the abyss that was always there

Yeah - similar to my original response to Dashboard Confessional, I couldn’t tell if it was a big meta joke or sincere. Corner Gas actually won me over but there was a similar discernment period of leaning into the repulsion. Now it’s my β€œgo to sleep” show.

I felt out of place as a millennial because the music was so anthemic about togetherness and I never trusted ANY OF YOU 🀨

I’m obsessed with Corner Gas. I accidentally watched an episode in the shower and I haven’t stopped watching it for weeks.

You know things are bad because I’m back to turning off all my devices and watching French new wave movies again.

Yes! It’s almost heartening though. Like they are losing their soldiers and I don’t think the bots can rally the troops the same way. I hope I hope

I remember when my old start-up boss, a 24 year old named Tanner, told me he had compassion fatigue about 3 months into COVID. I wonder how he’s holding up today?

Sick days before cell phones were top tier because that was it, you were off the grind. And if you had a little chihuahua or something to keep you warm? God help you

I grew up listening to this β€œbook on tape” on long car trips and I didn’t know it was satire 🫣 I focused in and really thought I was becoming bilingual

The thing about β€œhead cheese” is that you really need to not focus on the cheese part but run it back to the head part and ask about that.

No one is brave enough to admit that 2003 and 2004 were flop years. Did they even really happen?

I have a vast collection of vintage 80’s floral sheets. I use them, so it isn’t like some hoarding scenario. This is the print I had my entire childhood. I have the sheets, but I need the blanket. If anyone ever gets a lead on it, I’d pay a crazy amount of money for this comforter. Summer Garland.
