Ahhhh…you might be right and that’s why I can’t find it.
I’m looking for a post that @ddmeyer.bsky.social wrote about students not having to visit every screen of a Desmos/Amplify activity. Anyone know what I’m referring to?

I highly recommend introducing solving linear equations with bar models and here's why.
This is great from @howiehua.bsky.social I have always called these "equation strips" but definitely love them for solving 1 and 2 step equations. Here are some resources I've put together

A vertical number line has natural intuition; the numbers are greater as you go up. Awesome for intro to negative numbers too.
This virtual version from @phetsims.bsky.social is a delight:

Hey @Desmos friends…does anyone have a nice collection of one screen puzzles for students to play in the midst of an activity? Elementary student level appreciated. TIA
Sheesh...Phil Daro knocked my socks off in this conversation. You can hear the entire podcast conversation on Spotify.

I asked a student today which of these fractions was not equal to 1/2. He said, "It has to be one of those with a 3 on top--they can't both be 1/2" I'd never heard that before.

I love this from Ben Orlin.
“Mathematical truth may be black and white, but mathematical thinking is not.”
Also that maths class can be both welcoming and challenging.

Her answer to 1/2 + 2/3 is unconventional but mathematically correct. Not sure what to do next. Maybe show her work to the class (with her permission) and ask for their feedback?
Tracy—I’d love to share share with teachers after the new year. How long will this be open?
I'm in my happy research space, reading, listening, and interviewing everyone I can. I'm wondering if some of you might consider jotting some responses in this very casual questionnaire, so you can help me prioritize what's most important to you? I'd appreciate it so much. forms.gle/S1PqEn2B6Hik...

A felt-tip drawing of five squares. On the right is a stack with area 3,12 and 27. On the left is a single square with area 12. And a large square containing a question mark rests at an angle in the centre.
One of my favourite puzzles for the weekend!
What’s the area of the toppled square?

One great reason for gen ed teachers to follow a curriculum is it helps co- teachers (SWD and MLL) that support multiple classrooms have a common resource to work from so that they can better support their students.
Good to know! Thank you!
Did they have experience with Polypad before they did this? Or was this their first exposure?
It’s also providing a purposeful way for elem Ss to have more opportunities to craft responses in a digital environment. Our elem Ss don’t have a digital resource they use, but the state test at the end of the year is online. Not test prep, but learning how to communicate in a variety of mediums.
Are there materials for this session you’d be able to share?
