3. Cats have worse and shorter lifes if they roam outdoors
The domestic cat is one of the most frequently roadkilled mammal worlwide, and by far the first carnivore species in that list (photo commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ca...)

Toxoplasma: the parasite that takes over our brains Toxoplasma is a protozoan, a single-celled organism so small that it lodges inside the cells of animals (one in three humans) and modifies their behaviour.

2. Outdoor cats exchange diseases with other animals and with people. There you have Toxocara, bird flu or feline leukemia
And then there is Toxoplasma gondii,a truly huge, though overlooked public health issue (and an important conservation one too)

Thanks for featuring our work! Across 6 Italian cities (220 point counts; breeding + winter), we find that established parakeets tend to expand the functional trait space of urban bird communities, consistent with filling underused niche space.
