An excellent movie (Pauline Kale loved it IIRC) which seems to be largely forgotten. A shaft of light in a dark time for both Irish cinema and Irish life. Might still be lauded as a humanist classic if it was in French.

I think there's a kind of need for some people in Ireland to emulate everything about politics in the US and Britain; 'they've got a Zionist lobby' we want one too! 'Their far-right supports Israel, ours must too'! That Ireland is not America or Britain seems to elude people sometimes
I think it's partly because he directly criticised the club and appears to relish the conflict. But focusing anger over Gaza on one Irish ex-politician who happens to be Jewish is not the best tactical move, to put it mildly
The people of Gaza continue to struggle for basic sustenance, particularly now that Israel has once again restricted the flow of aid during its attack on Iran. The Gaza Soup Kitchen is still doing all it can to feed and provide medical support to as many people a day as possible. Please help them.

Yeah this is far more serious. I find it hard to articulate clearly but I think there's something very risky for actual survivors in the way people casually trivialise horrendous crimes by throwing (obviously false) accusations around so readily
The Bohs banner stuff is weird all round. Hard to see what case Shatter has there legally, but also something extremely online and loserish to focus your protest on Shatter, a man with no power, significance or position of influence. So more broadly, yeah...
Shatter is a prick but he's got a point here unfortunately. As I've said before some soul-searching needed as to why people were so desperate for him to be in the Epstein files (he isn't)

Considering that there are dozens of countries around the world established through settler colonialism, the idea that acknowledgment of that history leads to the dissolution of the "settler state" is patently unconvincing.

One problem with "settler colonialism" in regards to Zionism is that many supporters and opponents of the terminology believe it points to radical solutions and visions for the future - that "decolonisation" here necessarily means one-state solution or maybe even the "Algerian scenario".
