I haven't done shading in my sketches for more than 25 years. Always felt like it could put the lines at risk of becoming unreadable. It is strange how we creatively change over time.

There's a few things I'd fix if I were to do it again, but this TIE Phantom is still one of my favorite projects I've done in a while.
My brother once sketched my wife and I sitting on the couch in our old apartment. I never took photos of us in that room that since it was justβ¦ our regular lazy Saturday routine. Now that weβve moved (& got rid of that old couch) that sketch is one of my most treasured pieces of art on our wall.

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like βratingsβ or βrevenue.β it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA
Iridescent panels - Chaparral.
Examples of typical medium-weight armor. Important for maintaining a baseline of comparison for my crew of weirdo specialists.

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.
They canβt be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.
A sleek, dark grey podracer flies low over a desert landscape, towing a smaller craft with cables against a backdrop of hazy, orange-tinted desert landscape.

βAbolish ICEβ is literally the MODERATE position in America today. Not even the position Schumerβs constituents are demanding. The MODERATE position is βabolish.β
With all thatβs going on I hope games and devs get even more political. Itβs a joke cos nothing is devoid of politics especially with art but I just hope people start to own it more. F*ck fascism and donβt let them bastards grind you down.

I'm reminded of the quote I see every once in a while about how police struggle to dismantle anarchist groups because they can't identify group leaders.
Abolish ICE, prosecute and imprison its leaders, impeach and remove the President from office. This is the only sane reaction to a group of armed men kidnapping and gunning down our neighbors in the street.
ICE just gunned down ANOTHER person, beating a man half to death before shooting him at point blank range. What the fuck are we doing?
ARREST ICE NOW. PROSECUTE ICE NOW.
I will not rest until every single one of these murderers is held accountable to the communities they terrorize.
the regime considers all resistance violent resistance. you chanting while holding a sign and carefully remaining on the sidewalk is as worthy of the death penalty to them as someone throwing a Molotov.
Usually only if Iβm painting something small enough that doing shading in all the little crevasses and details would be a pain. I tend to prefer a neutral base since I can bring lights up and darks down, as opposed to worrying about bringing EVERYTHING up
That said, you can also learn a lot from traditional artists- miniature painting has a lot in common since you're fundamentally trying to do the trick of "make something flat look big and complex". I've learned a lot about light, depth, making things look more "real", etc. from painting tutorials.
Preshading is just what it sounds like, working in shadows and highlights before the main colors go down. You could use it for whatever parts you like, since it's just a method of bringing up or down details. I learned most of what I know about shading from Nightshift and Plasmo on YouTube
This is great!! Remind me of some of the ships from the Alien franchise
