if we donβt teach our children the big balls dance, where does that leave our society in 20 years? Always nice to see a ray of hope.
Tentative yes contingent on including Faygo in the gimmick postgame celebration
I personally don't feel like we've unlocked the full potential of funeral potatoes and would support incorporating them into stadium food
Hopefully her bottle contains the medicinal naturally-carbonated waters of nearby Soda Springs, Idaho
Your appearance on this podcast helped me to make comments during the Olympics that my family found interesting and helpful (instead of my usual variant of annoying and unfunny). Thanks for that!
I haven't played NBA 2K in years, but I know one year the MyCareer mode included 3-4 games that you could play for one of several colleges. I don't remember how many you could choose from, but 16 isn't a whole lot more.
Interested to see how they handle seasons, conferences, etc. with more teams.
I traditionally like to play as the recent FCS teams in dynasty because itβs functionally hard mode. NDSU is probably too good at football for that to work. (But I do welcome a new dome as the Kibbie Dome is no longer in the more recent versions)
I mean for my purposes thatβs the best thing about any of this. Fun new MAC team for dynasty mode
What are those estimate figures under point number two? That βnational broadcast valueβ figure would be crazy high for any TV-related figure Iβve seen for most P4 schools, let alone a California G6 school playing in the MAC.
If we ever got lucky enough to have a college football czar, my baseline expectation for any candidate would be complete philosophical alignment with this article. Excellent stuff.
No hate for Sac State and its fans, but am I wrong to be excited for NDSU joining the FBS (10 FCS titles, in a state that at least is almost kitty-corner with one of the charter MWC teams), but much less excited for Sac State (very brief window of success, nowhere close to the MAC)?
So tired of this happening.
Between this and my feeds being flooded with Epstein stuff, Im having one of those paranoid days where I sit and wonder if all highly-motivated and wildly-successful people are secretly terrible.
Probably not Iowa
Growing up in Boise, watching BSU transition from the Big Sky to the Big West/WAC and have their run through the 2000s was pretty spectacular. That's probably a best-case scenario, but I wouldn't want to deny that opportunity to any program.
Wait, you're telling me I can get CFB championship declarations AND the greatest golf jokes in the same magazine?
I see CFB fans talking about how much this sucks, but Iβd be curious to hear specifically from NDSU fans.
Some of the fans decrying this remind me of fans pushing for a separate G6 championship. I get it, but I hate it when smaller teams are told they shouldnβt dream bigger.
You're not wrong, F-Zero X on original hardware ran at a rock-solid 60fps which was pretty remarkable at the time. The NSO version has framedrops, which in my experience do take away from the game's feeling of speed. Still playable, but feels off.
I am only barely following the NBA this season. Should I expect JJJ to play a lot this season, or are the Jazz still looking to tank? Or will we still be tanking even if JJJ plays?
(Iβm fine with any of these options, FWIW. Iβm a fan, not the GM.)
Probably. what did sixers fans do when Al Horford came over from the Celtics?
I think theyβre comparing either possible scenario (linear TV or the MWC app) vs. Hawaiiβs old arrangement, where it streamed in a free app for people in the mainland US and Alaska.
I already pay for linear TV, but it was cool that Hawaii football was truly free of charge.
RIP to the last bastion of CFB regional broadcasts :(
Pretty sure thatβs the power-up that triggers Berserk Mode in Doom II
Having said that, I DO hate that for the best teams, unless youβre the NC, you end the season with a loss. My team was on the outskirts of the CFP field these last two years, but I still wouldβve preferred a possibly-winnable NY6-type of game vs. a 4 game gauntlet we had 0% chance of winning.
I agree with disliking the mercenary nature of CFB teams in the portal era, but I think the βpostseason feels hollowβ sentiment might be specific for teams like OU whoβve won at the highest level in recent memory. Thereβs still 80-90 FBS teams that would view a CFP appearance as a high watermarkβ¦
Nice, Akron at #2. Zips were due for this kind of season
It's possible that Sagarin for whatever reason isn't high on Big 12 or G6 teams - I might do the same process with SP+ or FPI. But it's something to keep an eye on.
(Note for the G6 data, 2020 was omitted due to that year being a major outlier. For that last chart, 2013 was omitted as there were no G5 teams that were ranked in the AP top 25 - all those teams were in the newly-formed American, which got to enjoy one initial year of AQ status.)
What's even more striking is the average Sagarin rating of AP top 25 teams outside the power conferences, compared to the average power conference Sagarin rating. In previous eras, these teams were well above the average P4/5/6 team, but now they're below.
