bonjour !
Let's get ready for a full month of training in image analysis in @pasteur.fr , this summer!
Are you interested in learning how to do bioimage analysis? For light microscopy? for cryo-EM? And for cellular cryo-EM?
Stay tuned, Pasteur offers access to THREE courses, this June.

the microfluidic channels
Do you know those annoying layer lines you get with FDM 3D printers? Those layers you try to avoid or hide?Β
What if I tell you we can use them to make 15-micrometer-tall microfluidic channels?

Big thanks to @danishbioimaging.bsky.social, @claraprats.bsky.social and team for hosting me!
A cochlea imaged in light-sheet microscopy (right) with staining for spiral ganglion neurons (red) and inner hair cells (blue). You will develop AI-based methods to analyze these structures, for example via segmentation of the individual cells (right) that will support gene therapy development for hearing loss and a better overall understanding of the anatomy of hearing.
Looking for a PhD position at the intersection of AI, imaging, and gene therapy? Apply for this position in my lab: tinyurl.com/2a2v6tvx
Part of sfb1690.uni-goettingen.de to study hearing, vision, and more.
Plus, you can create pretty pictures as the one below :).
New preprint out!
In this study, we introduce NanoFLex, a strategy that combines #HaloTag variants with #nanobodies -based immunolabeling to enable rapid, OneStep-IF #lifetime #multiplexing. Possible due to SmartSecondaries fused to #HaloTag from @nanotag.bsky.social: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Appose processing hackathon with @jytinevez.bsky.social, @ctrue.bsky.social, @gaellel.bsky.social, @strigaud.bsky.social, Carlos and Thomas . Simple POC with Java calling python through Appose to flip blocks. Promising!
PAPER OUT β¨ How can we make smart microscopy more interoperable? What are the technical and cultural challenges? 30+ people from academia and industry propose a roadmap: doi.org/10.1515/mim-... Also a review of applications and repo of implementations. Join the discussion! smartmicroscopy.github.io
Does anyone know of an anti mStayGold antibody that works for immunoblots / IP? Anyone tried the one from HUABIO (not even sure thatβs a real company)? Thanks!

I think there is a need for a complete re-think for organoid modeling.
As long as the architecture of organoids that you produce is not directly compared to a 3D map of the organ (say, a fallopian tube) or disease to be modeled, it will be approximate.
