Two new additions to my little library today, both first editions (!), both major twists in criminological discourse, and both with a discursive relevance which only seems to grow (in whatever way we might construe that).

Thrilled to announce that I've joined the Criminology team at Deakin as an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in an ongoing capacity.

Looking forward to a future of teaching, producing, critiquing, and questioning criminological knowledge within such a stellar discipline ✨

Agreed! I’ve been a bit of a Thelwell sceptic but this is a fantastic interview, and good timing post FA cup.

We have been censored in the US for our research on LGBTQ+ sexual violence.

My co-authors and I are extremely concerned about research and activism being censored and the speed with which organisations have acquiesced to transphobic, homophobic and misogynist demands.

On the proximity of the far right and the misuses of the β€˜mainstreaming’ metaphor A recent body of work has examined the normalization of far-right ideas and political violence. This is often referred to as the β€˜mainstreaming’ of the far right. This article explores some of the ...

Happy to have this out! New article in @identitiesjournal.bsky.social which examines how work on far right β€˜mainstreaming’ can sometimes paradoxically exceptionalise the far right even as it attempts to explain how it has become un-exceptional.
