Far, far, worse than I thought - and I already thought it pretty bad.
This is truly enlightening and I was unaware of most of it. Always felt a bit sorry for Sarah Fergusson at the beginning⦠no longer!
Katharine Birbalsingh blocked me on Twitter when I challenged her on original sin. She doesnβt like anyone disagreeing with her.
Just to confirm, the piece mentions Katharine Birbalsingh's views on all of us, including children, "suffering from original sin," going in a bit of detail in this podcast as to the implications for education.

A massive congratulations to my lovely @sharonkennedy.bsky.social on becoming the Team Leader at Penrith Mountain Rescue.
The Penrith Team cover the mountains of the Far Eastern Fells of the Lake District, the western side of the North Pennines, and the River Eden downstream to the Solway Firth.
99% of teachers are fully invested in supporting those with SEND in any way they can, and will work hard to do so. Unfortunately, there's a tiny minority who seem to resent making any accommodations at all, if this interferes with their view of how classrooms should be.
Theyβre very inaccurate with their munitionsβ¦.It was done by Iran.β Trump on the missile that hit the Minab primary school, killing at least 168 children and teachers.
He was wrong! An American Tomahawk killed those innocent girls and their teachers.
We weep for their loss.
Two people standing on an old stone arch bridge over a flowing river surrounded by lush green trees on a sunny day.
This attractive bridge is a short distance from West Burton Falls - aka Cauldron Falls - so named because of the swirls seen in the plunge pools below. It was one of the spots painted by Turner on his travels in the Dales.

Iβm with the authors! Why should AI companies be allowed to steal peopleβs work & livelihoods without permission? If normal people were to do it, theyβd quite rightly be sued.
Morning. The Pennine Moors on Sunday morning, I love the remoteness & the everlasting landscape that a good moor walk brings. Some may say it has nothing to catch the eye, I say it has everything to catch the soul π xx
After a month of rain & ill health, I finally made it out with the camera last wk and headed to West Bay for some daytime long exposure. Cloudy, bright conditions were ideal for a clean, minimalist look. This is a 2βmin exposure, smoothing the sea & turning the wave line into a stronger leading line
She brings up something really important. All of the women in my family worked. AND I have the receipts to prove it having gone through census records back... over 100 years. Now some of my family was very middle class (in the US sense) but everyone was working at something.
Just as a point of interest - how many people reading this previously knew about the UK WWII debt that was fully paid off, with interest, 60 years later?
BREAKING: Global oil prices have jumped above $100 (Β£75.02) a barrel and stock markets have slumped as the escalating US-Israeli war with Iran has fuelled fears of prolonged disruption to shipments through the Strait of Hormuz
This morning my friend gave her little girl a 'mobile phone'.
Her little girl (later to me): I've got an app on my phone! It's really good.
Me: You have?
Little girl: Yes. I put maths in and it tells me the answer.
She shows me her phone. It is a calculator.
Beautiful pure white, cup shaped flowers on bare branches of a Magnolia tree. The sky behind is clear blue.
π± #BlueskyMonday
Itβs Magnolia season and the flowers look stunning against the blue sky we saw last week. Sadly it doesnβt look like we will see much this week! Still the flowers will be there.
One of our two year olds used the word 'udders' last week while we were playing with cows on the toy farm. She didn't learn that because someone got her to memorise it. She has picked it up through rich experiences and discussions with caregivers. 'Advantage' doesn't look like direct instruction.
We shouldn't mix up the end point of learning with the process of getting to that end point. Children don't develop a wide vocabulary because they've been direct instructed in words. They learn language through conversation and experiences. Focusing everything towards memorisation is a mistake.
This is one of four videos of poems for Gaza that I've written. All four are on this site. Free to watch anytime.,

Farage misses out on Trump meeting as their relationship cools. British populist politician aimed to reinforce his view about the UK's Chagos Islands deal in conversation with US president Reform leader Nigel Farage's failure to secure an audience with the US president underscores a weakening of ties between the two populist leaders Β© Ben Birchall/PA
Farage had given the impression that he expected to see Trump, telling an event hosted in opposition to UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's proposed Chagos Islands agreement with Mauritius that the president "has almost understood the deal... but I'll be dining at Mar-a-Lago tomorrow night and I will reinforce the message". But, rather than receiving a formal invite to meet Trump, Farage was in fact invited to Mar-a-Lago by a member of the club, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.
βFarageβs relationship with Trump has cooledβ
Not really.
Farageβs relationship with Trump is a one-sided humiliation-fest.
Farage remains desperately needy and willing to sell us out to Trump. But Trump doesnβt see him as important right now.

A large digital board on the Outernet building displays a message: βMayor of London. CHAMPION WOMEN. RESPECT WOMEN. BELIEVE WOMEN.
