I don’t have an issue with his effort. He was carrying some issues after coming back from injury at the end of last season and didn’t perform because of it, that’s on Farke and the coaches.

My issue is leaving after the season started and his actions around the move. He deserves nothing.

Yeah deffo but pretty hard when he’s a beloved player who can change a game on his day. My issue with him is more in the way he left, it’s why I don’t have an issue with Summerville.

Totally and fwiw while we don’t have individuals like Rutter and Summerville I think we have a better balanced squad that doesn’t need to rely on hoping one player has a moment of brilliance. And as you say, we did better than many dared to hope for given how hard he flopped in the first 6 months.

At least we made a small profit which is good. And he was fun, but also infuriating.

Not at all, I just don’t get the obsession. He flopped when he arrived and we got relegated, he had a laugh battering crap championship teams for 2/3rds of a season, got injured and never recovered and we bottled promotion, then left just before his release clause expired. Hardly a great 18 months.

Then when he got some backlash for the the timing and circumstances he did another video about how hard it was and blah blah “I’ll always be a fan”. I have no problem with players moving on but be honest about it, “cheers for the support but an opportunity to progress my short career has come”.

Yeah clearly he wasn’t the same after. It all is a bit sus that he left just before his release clause expired, I can only imagine it was some moves by his team to leave us over a barrel after the season started.

I think he is fake, he made that mini documentary about us and left shortly after.

Rutter couldn’t do it when it mattered and forced his way out before his opportunity to leave lapsed and left us in the lurch. He’s not Leeds, I don’t know why he keeps trying to pander to us but it all feels as fake as his excited puppy schtick does in hindsight

They’re chugging away, successfully and competently getting stuff done but hopefully they learn the lesson of the US election where bluster and hyperbole beat demonstrable facts on boring subjects like economic performance.

It’s ridiculous isn’t it, I vividly remember some Sheffield United fan giving me shit when we signed him on Twitter for it too.
