I expect and hope to be feeling a lot better once I enter the second trimester. For longevity of project once I give birth, it's my hope that some of the folks who've been working on this in the background can take up the reigns for my parental leave. But tldr it can't happen with me solo.

So. The makerspace part was a response to the market survey. Give the people what they want. The makerspaces are there, but my sense is that furries prefer to work and hang with other furries. This space is intended to be a little-bit-of-everything. Hope that helps, and keep questions coming!

So, art studio meets social space. Within that same survey, a lot of people also said "I want a furry makerspace, too." There was a significant population of folks saying things in chat/open fields with things like, "I do this stuff alone in my room, and I want to do it with my friends."

The problem is space. Our apartments run out of room. Bars are 21+ and focused on alcohol.

When I ran an interest survey last month, we had over 50 respondents, and the lions' share of interest was about having a social space that can be used recreationally. But then, surprisingly, Makerspace!

Boston has a rich, bustling furry community of thousands of people* in Massachusetts. Many of us have known each other for decades. We are a great big extended family.

This is a great question with a long reply.

Our INITIAL aim was to be explicitly an *art* studio for several furry resident artists who needed more space to work. The call to need was for:

-Art studio space
-AND also for social/community space.
