I had to go see my bear, Curt, first thing. But, yeah, it's been three years for me, too. And I have way too many damn flowers growing on my island.
Ha ha! Sorry about that!
New to the badger family is the Caucasian Badger (Meles canescens). Originally thought to be a subspecies of Meles meles, it is now classified as it's own species as of 2013. It is native to western Asia and some of the Mediterranean Islands.. Only small difference in the Caucasian and European badger are in size and color, Caucasian Badgers being slightly smaller and having a yellow\brown color to it
#NationalBadgerDay #Brocktober #Brocktoberfest
As of 2013, the Caucasian Badger became recognized as it's own species of badger (Meles canescens). The species broke away from Meles meles between 2.37 million years ago to 450,000 years ago.
SCIENCE!!!
Happy Badger Day!
We rule!
As Cole has said in one of my pieces:
"It f@ckin' hurts when I smile".
Welcome to Auggie. Adding the Caucasian Badger to this years National Badger piece. That makes 9 different types of badgers. Also, adding the Stink Badger back to my crew, even though science now says Stink Badgers are "false" badgers, and closer related to skunks. There are two types of stink badgers, 6 types of ferret badgers, and 3 types of hog badgers.

October 6th is National Badger Day, a celebration to all things badger. Decided to do all my badger characters again, and added the Caucasian Badger, who officially became a different subspecies of badger in 2013. welcome to the badgerdom.

Sehr gut! (That's about all the German I remember from high school).
Brocktoberfest, celebrated this year with my honey badger character, Cole
September is coming to a close, which means a new month is on hand. It's now time for #Brocktober and time celebrate #Brocktoberfest. October 6th is National Badger Day.
This year, Bruce is letting the Honey Badger, Cole, take the lead. Cole, as you can see, is thrilled.
Bruce Badger and Smokey Bear during Fat Bear Week.
It's #FatBearWeek staring Smokey Bear. Looks like Smokey's gained a few extra pounds this year.
Smokey: "It's just my winter fat, Bruce."
Bruce: "Keep it!"
Joost is adorable. Add well dressed.
I have several different versions of that on my hard drive. I have a whole folder of Marten Toonder's art saved for when I need inspiration on what to draw next.
I discovered his art because I was into PG Wodehouse's "Jeeves" books, and found Bommel's butler, Joost. Love the inking on Joost.
Bruce with his friend, the common loon, Gavin. Gavin is drinking a rainbow colored drink.
My loon character, Gavin. This was part of a bigger piece from FA, but I wanted to get Gavin alone with Bruce again.
I have no idea what Gavin is drinking, nor why he's drinking from a beaker, nor why he's using a crazy straw to do so. He's a loon. He does weird things.
Anthro basilisk dressed up fairly nicely, just missing a tie (and shoes).
Piece done by @brucebadger.bsky.social of my beaky self dressed a bit more nicely than usual. Maybe it's time for a date? It's probably dark enough in that room to be safe to look into my eyes. Probably.

A reddish overweight pig wearing a cowboy hat standing with his hands extended over his head shouting "touchdown" while a happy badger is lying on his belly. The background looks like x's and o's with arrows drawn on a chalkboard
The start of the NFL season is just around the corner so Duroc and @brucebadger.bsky.social are dialing up some plays to get in the mood. Did I say mood? I meant to get into football shape. Yeah, that's it. We have a lot of preparation ahead of us. No time for gay stuff. Okay, maybe just a little.
At least one of those two critters looks gay to me!
Nero More, Bruce Badger and Baron Ratt (or Baron von Ratt in some of my notes. Also, his design has changed since I created this). Only thing missing from this piece is Ulysses S. Toad (or "Toady", who is also gay, so getting him into the piece wouldn't have made the piece "work').
My "Wind In The Willows" cast from 2021. Bruce's shirt, and my own sentiments from that time period, still seem apropos today. Always be the best "you" that you can be, no matter what anyone tells you.
For those who try to tell other people how to live their lives, mind your OWN DAMN business.
Ya know, I did one art piece for the movies he's starred in, but never made one for the fiction he writes. I may have to look into drawing art of him talking about the books he's written.
Time to do some research.
A well dressed tiger who goes by the name Theo, dressed up in his zoot suit.
My tiger, Theodore Sexton III.
You can call him Theo or Ted.
He used to work in the adult film industry (He's an old retired gay porn star "actor" where he went under the name of "Roary Cummings"). He also does a bit of gay erotic fiction under the pen name of "Markitty de Sade".
Happy Birthday, Mr. Lion.
Enjoy the movie and your birthday "spankings" (if that's what you kids call it these days).
There's a whole lot of "Yes!" in these pictures
Was in Auburn last time I went home. Saw William Seward's and Harriet Tubman's homes. I'm from Syracuse originally.
Both my older brothers went to SUNY Oswego. We used to hang out at Fort Ontario to see if we could see the ghost of George Fykes. I love spooky stuff.
Our kids look bored.
Hauke the basilisk (or cockatrice, for those who insist) lounges in a small inflatable pool watching fireworks with three eggs on a small raft. Rumor has it that the eggs’ more handsome parent is a badger.
Fourth of July…by @horn-e-coyote.bsky.social
Not that I feel like celebrating a whole lot…but I want to pass along an appreciation for fireworks shows to the next generation.
I have artwork that proves Pete is gay.
Pack the camera equipment.
Speedo helps here.
