If anyone is having a meltdown about the result, it wasn't a 5-2 loss or anything. It was a 1-1 draw.
At first blush, it seems like a good idea. It would help consumers in the short term. But
1. It also helps Trump and republicans who would take credit
2. Tax holidays are often windfalls for oil companies
3. Doesn’t address the core issue
4. We need that tax revenue
