I genuinely think we should bring back Home Ec, Wood Shop, Auto Shop, where math and reading have practical applications and see if scores go up. I couldn’t do algebra to save my life, but in business math the formulas made sense. Giving kids diverse learning opportunities may improve outcomes.
I agree! I took Home Economics and learned cake decorating and sewing. I had Auto Shop and learned about a car’s engine including parts of the carburetor. I even had drafting and designs and learned so much about drafting floor plans. But now, kids can’t read and a major part of AI is prompting.
