It was a privilege to do this for my friend's dad.

It's an Italeri original new tool kit from about 8 years ago.
Thank you! I really put the effort in as this was for my friend's dad as a surprise present.
1/32 F-104G Starfighter, Royal Netherlands Air Force. Italeri kit and Dutch Decals used. Built for a former KL Starfighter pilot and commissioned by his son (also a pilot), my work colleague and friend π #histscalemodels #scalemodels
1/72 B737 progress continues... trying to get it finished by Christmas. Primer is on, using Halfords automotive filler primer to cover all the many sanding abrasion marks, there was a LOT of sanding involved! #histscalemodels #scalemodels
It's bigger than I expected. People forget how big airliners are, even the 'little' ones π
B737 progress continues in 1/72...wings, flaps and slats attached. This is a big ol' beast! #histscalemodels #scalemodel
1/72 B737 progress: I'm using the aftermarket 3D-printed flaps set from LACI. They are a bit warped as produced but should fit ok. Cutting the flaps out of the kit wings was nerve-wracking but I had to do it differently to the instructions to ensure the wings didn't warp. #histscalemodels
B737 build is cracking along... wheelwell interior and fuselage completed. This really is a limited run kit! Fit is generally okay but parts need a lot of preparation and the windows are terrible. Much putty will be required π«€ #histscalemodels #scalemodels
#histscalemodels Time for one more build this year I think! BPK πΊπ¦ 1/72 Boeing 737-800. It's a big, short-run injection kit, should be a lot of work but an interesting build
Nope! The F-5E was the photo-reconnaissance version of the P-38J Lightning π
Two finished in a month! This is some kind of record for me π
Lockheed F-5E Lightning (Italeri 1/48) and Virgin Galactic VSS Unity space vehicle and VMS Eve carrier ship (Revell 1/144)

Sometimes you just need a therapy build!
Let's talk about religion and family and cultural tradition, like that's true freedom
Looks like Darth Vader without a helmet π
#HeaviesGB B-24 interior almost done, added crew figures from the kit.
Wow! That's attention to detail π

Things are getting better, but you're right π
1/48 Monogram B-25J Mitchell updated to represent US Navy PBJ-1J "Devil Dog" from the Commemorative Air Force, 2015. Top turret deleted and airframe and radio fitted to modern standards with VHF aerial, landing lights and red beacon. #histscalemodels #scalemodels
He must have been very busy!!! I'll try to do his design proud π
I like this technique of building as much of the model as possible before painting πͺ
Same π TGIS π
#HeaviesGB #histscalemodels PB4Y-1 Liberator is plodding along. Built up the waist gunner interior using Metallic Details photo etch and Browning 50 cal guns. Also showing my take on the interior colours: Dull Dark Green, Interior Green, and Zinc Chromate sidewalls which will get aluminium bracing.
Nope. I managed to knock it over even with that thing. I now keep it in a jar!
You've either done it, or you're going to do it π
Thanks π yes it does stay in the new shape once you've boiled it!
Belated start to my #HeaviesGB entry but we're off at last!
New nose section has been un-warped in boiling water, and almost fits the fuselage πͺ
Old supercharger sections have been cut out of the engine nacelles and new ones prepared
Gear legs have been installed in 'up' position with hinges.
